i fed them straight formula--i forgot to add the water!

I'm so exhausted right now and just realized that I fed my babies pure formula where the can says mix equal parts water. They are resting right now but I hope this won't make their bellies hurt or anything. Anyone ever do this?? Please advise...

 

It may constipate them a little if there is added iron and they may get a little tummy ache, but they will be okay. My MIL did this with my first daughter. She only mixed the powdered formula with like a quarter or half of the water she was supposed to. When I came home and saw the bottle looking all chunky and powdery I flipped out. I called poison control and they told me about the chance for constipation. My hubby and I were very young and VERY PARANOID. I am sure I made the poor woman feel so incompetant :blush:

Oh thank you for your response. I hope they won't have a bad tummy ache. My boy is so fussy as it is. I feel like I am also very paranoid.

 

I'm just looking at the time and realizing you would likely know by now if they are constipated and uncomfortable. Depending on their age, I would have been tempted to give them a little water to help things pass through.
My SIL got her powder to water ratio mixed up once and the result was a grumpy constipated baby. As soon as she figured out the problem, everything was fine.

Sounds like you need some sleep!
