Ok just a bit of a whine here if ya dont mind. The transition to whole milk means my babies are growing up and quite frankly Im NOT ready for it! They are 11 months old and I dont really give them much baby food right now like I know I should (they are addicted to puffs though ). I guess I just dont want my babies to grow up, I dont know that we will have more kids, there is such a risk and we cant afford anymore right now, so that is probably a big part of my problem. They just grow up too fast :cray: Doesnt help that my dh keeps reminding me that ds will be starting K soon...hes only 3! Dh loves to torment me. I thought it was great to have kids so early on but now Im realizing that my kids will all be grown in my early 40s :icon_eek:

You are so right Cassie, they do grow up fast. But I was totally ready to give up bottles. I love that they are on milk, cups, and table food. It has made my life so much easier and I actually feel like I have more time in the day. :) They will always be your babies, no matter how old they are.

Oh I understand what you mean Cassie, it is hard to let go of the baby years. But for some reason, I am thrilled to be done with bottles and baby years. Its been a tough one, kwim??? I just wish mine would use a sippy cup :(

I have to agree with you....I'm not looking forward to it, either. Probably the same reason why I'm refusing to cut Johnny's hair at least till after his birthday, even though these little side "wings" are getting really long! As their birthday gets closer, I'm getting a little more weepy. :cray:

I try to remind myself of all the new stuff they're doing & what will be around the corner, and how much fun it's going to be. And get in as much snuggle time as I can!

I want them to stay small too, but I was not upset about giving up that formula bill!!!

At what age did you change over to whole milk?

Our pedi usually does it at 9 months, that is when we did it with our oldest DD. But since the twins were preemies we did it at 12 months. I think most pedis switch to whole milk at 12 months.

I know what you mean about having babies early, my oldest will graduate high school when I'm 40, then Emma when I'm 45, then the twins when I'm 47. BUT ------ BUT ------- I will be young enough to enjoy my grandbabies and great-grandbabies! :D So, there is always something to look forward to...

Very true, my kids as of right now (from both sides total) have 2 grandmas, 2 grandpas, 5 great-grandmas, 2 great-grandpas and a great-great grandma too :) Great great grandma is only 87 too :)

I guess it is kind of funny to think when my youngest graduate I will only be 41 :)

Yep, that is my favorite thing about being young, I will still be 'young' when mine are grown, and I can enjoy everything!

Yep, it definitely gets cheaper switching to whole milk, LOL

One other thing Im kind of on the fence about though, with ds I kept him on breastmilk until he was 13 months, and then formula til he was 16 months all because he was a preemie, so Im kind of torn about transitioning now. The girls were only 2 months early so they would be 10 months adjusted when we make the switch. Ok I need to stop thinking about this before I start crying.

You guys make me feel old. I am 36 and these are our first kids. They only have one great grand parent and of course, they do have both sets of grand parents.

I am not going to discuss how old I am going to be when the twins graduate from HS! :excl:

I'm right there with you - I am 36 and these are our first kids too! So what if we'll be 53/54 when they graduate high school... 50 is the new 40. :D

We are lucky with grandparents, I still have all of mine - they are all in their mid-80's or 90's. So the boys have all their grandparents, plus two sets of great-grandparents.
