AAAAHHHHHHH! what is going on at my house??? the past week has been awful. my girls are absolute terrors!!! they don't listen to a word i say and i find myself yelling all day long. i have tried timeouts, which work in the moment, but then they go back to acting up again. and the smart mouthes on them is ridiculous!!! they are 3.5...where do they learn this stuff?? i ask them nicely to pick something up and then turn around and tell ME to do it....WHAT????

so...i don't know how we will make it through the summer (or how i will??). i just don't know what to do with them to make them happy and NICE! we swim almost every afternoon, play-doh, coloring, puzzles, etc. i even take them to the movies once a week. and still they are a nightmare. when 8am rolls around, i am already waiting for bedtime to arrive. i know it sounds terrible, i just hope i am not the only one!

so what is everyone doing with their little ones this summer...any ideas PLEASE??????

    thanks

Honestly last summer my kids were the same age as yours are now and I was in the same boat. They were going through the frightning 3's and driving me nuts. I do know that sticking to a routine when they were acting out was crucial for me. I just tried to keep them busy and believe it or not limited the amount of time they watched TV. I have noticed a significant improvment in their behavior on the days they don't watch any tv. I would take them to the Park and let them run around until they were exhausted. I avoided any sugary snacks or drinks like the plague. ( they did not need ANY more energy ) I could hardly keep up with them as it was. :) I introduced the Memory Game to them and would play it for hours at a time with them. Sorry I'm not much help. I hope it gets better for you. :hug99: And that someone else has more suggestions.

:hug99: Sorry you are frustrated! I have a bit of the same stuff going on. I blame the transition from school, and the interruption of good sleep for several nights due to weather. We haven't had a good week of sleep since summer hit due to storms. So, I'm mostly blaming being tired. But it still gets old, no matter what the reason!

My plan is to get them outside as long as possible and run them into the ground... bedtime being early. Not a very good plan I am sure!

:hug99: I hope it gets better!
