I don't know what to do!

My boys are 2 months adjusted.. I am wondering what to do with them! They seem bored! I knew as they got older they'd be awake more, but I feel like I don't have enough hands to entertain them at the same time. They both have a play mat (neither of them like tummy time without screaming bloody murder) so it's most spent laying on their backs looking up. It doesn't keep them entertained more than about 5 minutes. They don't really seem to like their swing and bouncer as much anymore. Calmness only lasts about 5 minutes in those. They won't lay in their pack n play without screaming. They don't know how to pick things up to entertain them. Objects (toys, bright objects, etc) don't seem to get their attention. They definitely don't listen if you try to read to them!

They are calm in their car seats when we are out and about moving, but I HATE all of the effort of getting them on the go, only to worry about feeding them in 3 hours (more like 2 hours by the time we leave and the time it'd take to unload them when we got home)!

So I'm asking, what did you all do with your little ones at this age? Any toys you'd recommend? Are they too young to put in an exercauser and jumperoo?

Oh I know! My last singleton was bored til she could sit in her bumbo and bang the toys on her tray at about 4 months. My twins are just starting to enjoy their swings and playmat so i figure they're finally reaching the age where they are interested in things thankfully!

I would say they are definitely too young for a jumperoo but try a baby einstein dvd, the "youngest" one that all my babies liked at this age is baby beethoven and my babes are starting to like that too. I hate the bored stage its soooo hard for parents to help them. I just always rotate between their bouncers, playmat, holding, talking a funny faces, their swing, baby einstein, playpen with wind up mobile, cribside soother type of mobile, any combination of the above then lather rinse repeat lol. Anything that gives them a different view.

Good luck it's a hard stage but they'll be able to do new things soon! Oh yeah, don't give up either, i thought i had 2 babes who would never take to their swings, it just took them a while so what may not work now could work in a week or 2 just keep trying.

Yes, I think 2 months they won't be able to enjoy the exersaucer or jumperoo but you could try it and see what happens. How about walks in the stroller?

At 2 months my babies just slept, ate, and looked around a bit for the most part. :pardon: Walks in the stroller are always good, singing songs, talking to them. Do you have anything like this? I always used those to help give them something to look at & reach for.

I could have written this post myself 2 months ago. I had the EXACT same frustrations and just didn't know what to do to keep my babies from fussing from boredom. Like a PP said, I just tried to rotate them from bouncer, to pack n play, to activity gym, etc and that was around the time I introduced them to a baby sign language dvd. Also, they liked the Fisher Price aquarium crib soother then, but as with everything else after 5-10 minutes of one thing they were fussing...it was exhausting! I spent untold hours talking to them in wacky baby voices while making goofy faces. I sure hope none of my crazy ramblings were picked up on any neighbor's baby monitors or they probably think I'm certifiably insane, LOL. I still do crazy baby talk w/ the boys all the time, but usually these days I turn off the monitor first ;)

I hope your babies become more interactive soon so you won't feel so frustrated and exhausted trying to entertain them!

I still have the same problem and it drives me nuts! Hopefully they will outgrow this stage soon!

Yep, its tough. We did alot of bouncy, swing, floor time. We did a bunch of walks and we got out just about everyday and ran an errand or I just went and got coffee at the drive thru.
