I didnt want to post this but..... I learned something i didnt know

With in the last 20 min we had a situation here.

We have an island in the kitchen and they only thing thats under it is some items that we dont use to often such as baking pans and other stuff. To keep the kids out if it we just zip tie it and this has worked well. Well today they got under the island. Im guess that myslef or Dh needed something out of it and forgot to zip tie it agan...... There was nothing under there that could hurt the kids we just didnt want these certain dishes pulled out everyday. It took a min to get over to them and i didnt rush b/c theres just dishes under there. When I got over to them they had a tube of super glue that had to have fallen out of the back of the drawer into the cabinet below..... Brandon had bit a hole in the tube and had it on his mouth, a few of his fingers were glues together and Dylans whole hand of fingers were glues shut. I got the glue away from them in turn gluing my own fingers together. I got them up on the counter and looked them over... brandon mouth was open and I thank god hes teeth and drooling or the outcome might have been different..... it was cheap super glue so as soon as I got their hands wet their fingers pulled apart.

After all that I called poison control and she said Veggie oil will make anything unstuck thats stuck together buy super clue. And not to worry about him swallowing anything b/c it would never make it to the back of his mouth.... At that moment I could breath again...

S everything is unstuck and most of the glue is off all of us...

But I just wanted to share the veggie oil b/c I had no clue...

It could have been much worse then it was and I feel horrible for not paying closer attention.

Angels were with us today.

 

What a caution! I swear if there is a danger or a mess within 5 miles, toddlers will find a way to get in it! I wouldn't worry too much - Super Glue was invented to be used on skin to treat soldiers in Vietnam. I am glad you were able to get it all off!

 

Thank you so much for sharing that story. I am so gald everyone is ok. I never knew the oil would work so thank you so much. It is amazing how quickly these little guys can get into something.

Wow! I'm so glad everyone is okay. I knew that nail polish remover would get it off skin, but if it gets into their mouth, it's nice to know vegetable oil can save the day! TFS.

Thanks for posting this. I would have panicked too. I'm glad that everyone is ok.

 

It's amazing what they find interesting, you would think they smell would deter them. I'm so glad it all turned out alright. I bet you were terrified, I know I would have been.
Glad to hear that everyone got unstuck, superglue takes quite a while to get rid of.

Oh my, that had to be scarry! I'm glad the outcome was good though. I had to lock my cupboards for the same reason...stuff was falling from the drawers and they would get ahold of random stuff when I thought ONLY dishes were down there.
