I did it!!! A whole day and no bottles. And I'm not turning back this time. They didn't drink very much milk yesterday but I made sure that they got calcium in many many other ways and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I just had to get over the idea that they HAD to have 16 oz of fluid milk or they wouldn't survive. They did fine. Today, Arwen drank a little bit of milk with her bfast but Lorien, nothing. Oh well. I'll keep trying. Thank you ladies for encouraging me to do it. I was deffinately making more of it than was necessary but as a first time mom I just sometimes get caught up in the tiniest of details. THANK YOU ALL for helping me (to help my girls) with this transition. Until the next one...
YAY! :yahoo: I am so excited for you. I wanted to share that you are also an inspiration!! I decided when our current batch of formula is gone, we're off to sippies with milk, and it's because YOU inspired me! I'm so happy that it worked so quickly for you!!
Woohoo! :bow2:  We are also in the one more can of formula, and then we are off bottles club. I can't wait until no more bottles to wash and no more formula to make. Can you all please remind me of that in about a week when I am hating life because we have no more bottles and my girls are cranky?
Glad you are taking the plunge and doing it!! I know that it is a difficult transition, and some babies just have a harder time taking to the sippies. Hang in there mommy, and good job! :a_smil09:
:a_smil09: Yeah for you!!! In the next couple of months we will be doing the same transitition so I sure I will be venting/crying here also. They do juice well out of the sippy but, still cling to bottle for milk.
  YAY!!!!!! WTG!!!!!!! Congrats and enjoy the freedom of no bottles!!!!!!

Isn't it a great feeling to make these steps? Way to go! We chucked ours when the girls got the flu- they didn't want anything to do with drinking so we just made them disappear!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are inspiration to someone like me who NEEDS to buckle down and get rid of bottles for ds! WTG MOMMA!!!
 Good job!!! And, a few days without the max. requirement is not going to harm them in the long run! So great job and they'll do it more and more when they see that it's the only option!!
:a_smil09: GOOD JOB !!!!! We are still on one last bottle before bedtime, but their morning milk is on a sippy and other fluids, juice and water are on sippys too. I am afraid to take away the last bottle cause my DS needs/likes about 12 oz. at night and no sippy can accomodate that much. Also I view it like their "comfort" bottle. I think I will cut it off next month.
