I did it!... and now I am done

Hello,

Thought I would tell everyone that I made my goal of 7 months pure pumping! My twins were early and didn't want to latch so I took on the daunting task of exclusively pumping breast milk for them! I didn't think I would reach 3 months let alone 7 but I did it and now I think I will call it quits. I am so happy that I was able to give them mama's milk this long and now that I have been working full time and running after my two year old, I think I can happily say that it was a success. The twins are huge and taking to formula fine. I am sad but happy and hope that those out there struggling with pumping know that it is possible and that any breast milk you can give them is really good for them.

WTG! I pumped for one twin for 3 months and I was so glad to hang up the pump! That is so awesome that were able to provide them with breastmilk so long!

Wow-- you're my hero! I can't STAND pumping, and can not imagine exclusively pumping for TWO. You are amazing, mama!!

 

Great job! I pumped for about two months straight, but that included nursing once in the morning and maybe once in the evening. I'm now nursing more and not pumping as much (my girls weren't born very early like your babies). Anyway, pumping is really hard work, especially when you have an older child and lots of interruptions. I was just talking to someone yesterday about how time-consuming pumping is and they said "Really? Why?" Some people have NO CLUE! WTG, Momma!

:a_smil09: Good for you!!! I pumped for my singleton preemie for 6 months (for the same reasons you did it) and I wanted to go outside and run my pump over with our car a few times when I was finished. I'm glad I didn't bc it came in handy for these two little buggers.

Huge KUDOS to you! I know first-hand what a pain it is to pump, but your kids will get lifelong benefits because of it. Way to go!
