I know I am being silly abou this whole thing, specially when I know all is well with the babies and me. But after my visit to that idiotic Dr at the Fetal assesment clinic for high risk pg and her whole speach about the termination and how high risk and bad this pg is, i cant help being paranoid about it. The babies are still very small and I dont always feel them but I keep on thinking so hard about it i fear the worse if I dont feel them. I have nightmares about loosing them. :fool:

I know I need to get over it, and did not realise she mde such a bad impact on me. I think I will feel better when I go to my regular OB on the 17th.

Urgh such insensitive people should realy find a job in a dark corner and not deal with the public!!! :hush:

Your doctor told you to terminate because it's twins? :umm: :shok: OMG, I'm so sorry.  Why is it bad? :( I'm so sorry that your doctor said that and is making you feel so paranoid, that's not fair. Can you call your OB and move up your appt.?

Yeah, what the heck?? That lady is obviously wacko! This website wouldn't exist if popular medical concensus was to terminate for twins! So, just don't listen to her. And you are 14 weeks, you probably won't feel the babies too much right now anyway. I'm almost 20 weeks and I rarely feel mine at this point!

 I am so sorry that your Dr said that to you!! :grr: I would totally be upset as well. Is there any way that you can see another Dr and avoid going back to her?

I think that was totally ridiculous for that Dr. to go on like she did and you really need to tell your OB how much that appointment disturbed you. She needs to know that she should not be trying to scare people into doing something they don't want to do. I'm sure your precious babies are fine so please try not to worry, I know it is hard though. I didn't feel much movement from my one baby until the last week or so and still he has days that he is really active and days that he isn't. (((HUGS))) I HATE that the Dr. was so mean to you! :(

I and many other moms on this site, have Mono-di twins who were born with NO complications. I delivered at 35 weeks (which if I remember right is the average week for mono-di twins) and we didn't even need the NICU.

There is no reason why you should assume the worst. Yes, be aware of what could happen, stay on top of your prenatal care, but assume that those things won't happen, because you personally know many many positive outcome people.

I can't believe she would say that to you!!! I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Definitely tell your regular ob and make sure you do not see that same lady!! I agree that 14 weeks is early to be feeling a lot of movement. And Boooo for insensitive people, sheesh!

Personally - I would find another fetal specialist! Does she have a hang up on multiples or something? If so, she's in the wrong field! That is awful - and I am really sorry you endured that. Healthy twins are born every day - you have every reason to be happy and enjoy this double blessing.... hang in there :)

P.S. My entire fetal medicine team said not to worry about movement until 23 weeks!

 I am sorry that the doctor said that to you. I know I would be totally upset and scared if a doctor said that to me. I would definitely try to find another doctor for that and also see if you can see your OB sooner.

WHAT????? I am in total shock right now! I can't believe that Dr said that!! I think sometimes Drs have certain experiences that imprint on them. I posted on here weeks ago - because the 1st high risk Dr I saw treated me like I was sick because I have mono-di twins. He wanted to monitor me up the wazoo. Which might be fine for some people, but it wasn't for me. Anyway, my current high risk dr tells me - "you're pregnant, not sick!" Women have been having healthy mono-di twins for YEARS! I didn't feel mine until about 19 weeks. I think you should have Drs that you feel comfortable with - that work with you as a team with your OB. Good luck!

WOW. That is shocking to me. I think that is amazingly irresponsible of the Dr to say that to you as well as innapropriate. If it were me I would talk to their office about that or mention it to a partnering Dr within the practice.
I hope that seeing your regular OB will be reassuring for you

I didn't feel movement with my girls until 21 weeks :good:

So sorry that this doctor is causing so much worry for you! One of the doctors at our high risk office said some similar comments as well. He said many of the same ones you mentioned but his by far worse comment was... "All ob's hate twin pregnancies. In fact, if one of the babies is lost in the first 10 weeks due to miscarriage, we celebrate". Can you believe that!? When he made that comment, I immediately pushed every other comment he made out of my head because he lost all credibility with me. We have not seen him since. Thank goodness!
Listen to your ob and forget what this other crazy doctor told you!
    Good luck!

I am sorry that her ridiculous comments are causing you such stress. I had mo/mo boys 16 months ago and remember all too well that stress. I am glad your babies are di/mos, but the stress is still there. You would be surprise how many women on the monoamniotic.org site had termination suggested, which is crazy. I pray that you can enjoy the rest of the pregnancy and TTTS stays far away from your girls.

Please find another doctor, she is not worthy to be taking care of your babies. There are OB out there that enjoy working with twins and triplets that goodness. Be strong momma and I'm so sorry for your upsetting visit. On another note, I didn't feel the twins until around week 20 and it was my second pregnancy. Last week my husband and I watched a BBC documentry on how twins, triplets, and quads develop in the womb, it's a four part series and it just started tomorrow is part 2 I can't wait. Any way they said that girls in the womb alway react and move first and they don't know why. I found out that we are having boys but my husband doesn't know because he wants to be surprised.... so their theory was true in my case anyway- :friends:
