I can't believe they are sick again

Max and Lily had bad colds two weeks ago after DH had one that he passed to me and I passed to them. Well today they started sneezing and coughing again . Max has been up twice tonight since going to sleep at 8pm. I feel so bad for them. I just wonder if our Sunday restaurant outing contributed to this, since they had so many people come up to them. I think there is nothing worse than a sick baby, especially when you can't make them totally comfortable.

 

I'm sorry you have sick babies. :hug: It must be the time of year, all 3 of mine have runny noses, coughs, etc. I wouldn't blame yourself for the breakfast outing, I bet they just picked up germs from you or DH again - probably germs you don't even realize you're carrying b/c you feel fine! :hug:

One of my boys is sick too. It's totally exhausting isn't it. I'd keep taking them out, well after they get better; you can't shelter them forever. That's how I see it.

 

I hope they feel better soon! Having sick kids is never fun!

So my mom called me at work and said Max had been crying/wimpering for 3 hours even after Tylenol and pulling both ears. My boss said I could leave early once I called the doctor and the only appointment they had for the next two days was at 3pm today. I take him in and they confirm the cold and a DOUBLE ear infection. We are on antibiotics now, but he is just miserable.

Then the cherry on the top of my day was Max was crying for his night time bottle, so I gave it to him even though I thought in the back of my mind I know this is going to be a bad idea. He drank it slow and then 10 minutes later started coughing, then two gags, then I was covered in the bottle. Yuck!!!

I just hope he starts to feel better tomorrow because he is miserable and it makes me feel terrible.

 

i totally feel your pain. we've been battling very bad colds for almost 3 weeks now. it's sheer misery, but hopefully as the weather warms up we'll get a good healthy streak going.

 

Guess what, now Max is allergic to the amoxicillin they prescribed for the double ear infection. He broke out in hives all over his legs and chest 10 minutes after his 3rd dose. The on call doctor had us give him 1/2 tsp. of Benedryl every 4 to 6 hours and then tomorrow they will reassess him and prescribe something else. Apparently babies don't develop an allegery until the 2nd or 3rd exposure to the drug. Boy what a week this has been /

We were in the same boat until this post; coughing, gagging, throwing up and ear infection in one baby. But fortunately my LO doesn't have an allergy. The allergy stinks; I hope they find a better antibiotic.
