I can't believe my babies are 3 today!

Sorry...I know its a bit self serving, but just had to share the joy and bit of sadness that my little girls are 3 years old today! I can't wait to see what is in store for this year!

 

OK, this is a bit self-serving too, but I'm including a poem that I wrote for my girls on their 3rd birthday for their scrapbook. I was like you when they turned three. I felt like their baby years were slipping away. Very bitter sweet. Happy birthday to your girls. :hug: and hugs to you!

How Your Worlds Grew at Two!

Your shining faces still so new,
sleeping soundly, breath times two,
silently I stared at you
the day that you turned two.

Running in the fresh Spring grass,
summer squeals, as you splash;
throwing leaves, away you dash.
I tie your scarlet Christmas sash.

A year that passed so quickly by.
You learned “I love you”, “No” and “Why”.
Like baby birds who learn to fly,
you soared into an open sky.

Now the cribs are packed away,
you even dressed yourselves today.
So independent in your play,
the morning of your third birthday.

Is that the door? They’re here so soon.
I’ve barely hung the last balloon.
Presents, cake and paper strewn,
now all is quiet in your room.

Life speeds by so fast it seems,
but under moonlight’s softened beams,
you sleep amongst the pinks and creams
And time stands still (if just in dreams).

I'm (mostly) loving age 3 so far -- they do have their "moments," but they had those at age 2 too! I agree though, it seems like they are really big kids now. At 2 they still seemed a bit like babies -- now I feel like they'll be starting kindergarten any day.
