i can't believe it...

4 months ago i was on an operating table having doctors cut me open and pull these two baby boys out of my belly. they were soooo little, 4lbs 14oz and 4lbs 15oz and just barely over 19" long each. we brought them home at 4 1/2lbs since they lost a lot in the hospital and as of last thursday (the GI weighed them and measured them) they are 13lbs 4oz and 13lbs 6oz and almost 25" long. we are already into size 6 month clothes since their torsos are so long and they are doing push ups, lifting their head completely off the floor, getting so close to crawling it's unbelievable (if you give them something to solid to put against their feet when they get into the crawl position they will do the military crawl), they do squats and make themselves stand up when you hold them up, they've got awesome neck control and love to grab toys and shake them to make their playmat make noise. they smile and coo none stop and actually bounce themselves in their bouncy seats since they move their legs so wildly. of course this is all when they aren't being lil' cranky pants.

it's amazing how fast time goes by and how babies just instinctively learn all of these things. i still can't believe i'm a mommy and have two beautiful sons.

we will get the official weigh in and measurements at their check up next week after thanksgiving.

i can't wait until they are 6-9 months old, crawling and learning words! it's going to be so much fun!

 

i hear ya - i can't believe we're 2.5mths in - time flies.

 

yup time flies!!! I can't wait for our 3 month checkup in a week or 2 to see how much mine have gained too.

 

I can't wait either! Sadly though my little guys will not even be 10 pounds by then (our 4 month check up is Nov 30)

Congrats on your growing boys! I know it's been a tough ride, for all twin parents, but the time just seems to fly by. I, too, feel a sense of awe every day when I look at my precious boys. They were born under 3 lbs and are now a couple of ounces shy of 15 lbs. And when they flash those sweet smiles at me and giggle, well it just totally melts my heart. I feel soooooo lucky to have these little angels! I hope your guys keep growing and passing development milestones!

 

Yay! That's awesome! I had mine around the same time as yours. My birth weights were higher, but your boys are now higher than my girl! She was 5 pounds at birth and is now 12.3. My son was 7 and of course is huge now, weighing 16.3.
