    Ok
I had stomach flu and the nausea stuck around longer than I would have liked. DH decides to go to Walgreens and get a pregnancy test.
    Before he goes I say
"No matter what the result is, I am calling the Urologist tomorrow to schedule your vasectomy! (This is something we've been talking about for a while)

    He says...
"Well, if you are pregnant, you know what we have to do about it."

    WHAT??!!!
I know we can't afford more kids and I don't know where we'd put another one. But WHAT?? How do you just make a comment like that??
I have always been pro-choice but it is also something I know I could never do.

Luckily the test was negative. I am just so shocked that he would even say something like that.
I set up his appointment for 2 weeks from now so I know this will never be an issue again. Is it worth bringing it up to discuss with him?

    It really bothers me.

    Thanks for listening,
    Shoshana

I would have said something the minute he said it.

I hope the results were what you wanted.

Wow my DH would never say that..and if he did I would perform his vascetomy for him, without numbing medicine. :)

Just a warning on the vasectomy...DH had his in mid-February and he just got tested yesterday and there are still sperm swimming around. There weren't very many (and we got pregnant on our first try, so we're sure he used to have lots!), so they think the surgery was successful, it will just take longer for them to all get flushed out. So he has to go back again in a couple of weeks to get tested again. Just wanted to let you know you still have awhile before you can call the vasectomy effective birth control......so, if you intend to have sex anytime in the next couple of months, be prepared to come up with another birth control method.

As for whether to bring up the other topic with DH, I honestly don't know what I would do. If it's never going to be an issue again, you might risk a big fight over what is really a non-issue in your lives. Good luck!

I don't know if I would bring it up again. We had a pregnancy scare when my girls were about a year old and my DH said more or less the same thing -- not in quite the same way, but it was clear that he would have no problem with terminating given that we really did not want another child. I wasn't sure how I felt about it, but I know it wasn't that cut-and-dried to me. Since then we've just been really careful (and he's getting a V one of these days), and I just don't think it's worth hashing it out.

I guess I just see it as very sad that a married person would think about terminating their pregnancy. There are so MANY other things you could do. I am so glad my husband and I are on the same page about life. :)

Good luck...I would have to talk to my DH, put again I wouldn;t have this problem so I dont know your relasionship.

    HUGS anyways.

:hug99: I feel that if it really is still bothering you, you should talk to him. There is no reason you should be bothered and let it stew inside. :hug99: I would have been shocked at a comment like that too, and probably too shocked to have said anything at that moment. And like PP mentioned, sometimes there are still sperm even after a vas. so you should definately bring it up with him JUST IN CASE.

    Many :hug99:'s to you.

My dh would have said something like that but when it came down to it - would not have ment it - do you think he just said it because it was a scary thought to him or do you truly believe that he would have no problem terminating??

LOL I was thinking the same thing!

BTW.. if it is bothering you bring it up, nothing good can come from suppressing something that important when it is bothering you. Wow did I just sound like Dr Phil or what! B)

I agree...although my DH did not say this when I, in fact, tested positive Monday...I thought he "might" say something like this but only because he would be scared sh*tless.

I would definitely say something though.
