I can't believe dh wants to do this!

I was telling dh yesterday how dd told me before she had to go poo poo (which surprised both of us) and we got onto the subject of potty training, seats, etc. He's a plumber, and he said he could probably order us a special seat when the time comes that's made for toddlers. I was thinking some kind of seat that goes on top of a regular toilet. He said no - a whole new toilet! Like the little ones you see in preschools. I don't know why I think this is so funny....and kind of cute.....but I'm starting to think "why not??" We have 2 bathrooms, so it's not like we'd have to sit on the mini toilet. And they'd be a size that would fit them for several years to come.

    What do you think??

That sounds like a great idea! It will get lots of use for years to come.

I would love one of those! My girls have one at daycare and I think it makes it hard for them to use the little potties at home, because their "real" potty at school is so much better.

When you have houseguests, it will definitely be a conversation starter!

LOL....I asked him about guests, but he said they can always use the other bathroom. :D You have to go through our bedroom to get to it, but I guess that'd be a good reminder for me to make my bed!

The guest thing would stop me from doing it, but that would be pretty cool!

I wouldn't do it. At some point they will have to learn to sit on the regular toilet, and you don't want to be away and all they will sit on is the mini one. Also, one of my 5 year olds is pretty tall, and he already is too big for the mini toilets. Another thing to consider, since you have a boy, by age 3, mine could reach the big toilet when standing without a stepstool. With the mini toilet, the "target" is much smaller--hence more chance of having a mess to clean up on the floor.

That would be cool. But I would pass. 1) I would want a full size toilet for my guests to use without the discomfort of having to walk through someone's personal space (i.e., your bedroom) to get there. 2) They need to use a standard sized potty every where else. It is easier just to learn to use a regular potty.

Hannah is just over 2 1/2, fully potty trained, and has no problem getting on and off our standard sized toilet in our house.
