Yesterday the president of my company came into my office about a technical issue, and happened to see the pictures of my twins on the desk. He exclaimed, "Are those 2 babies?! I knew you went on maternity leave last year, but I didn't know you had twins! How on earth do you do it?!" I said that it could be tough at times, but generally they are a lot of fun now, and basically downplayed the whole thing while on the inside I'm thinking "I'm the mother of twins, man, I can do ANYTHING!!!!!"

Twin moms (and dads) rock! :D

yep, when I was working in a nursing home when the twins were about 4 months old, someone asked me how I do it. I just told them, "I'm lucky I got my pants on the bottom and my shirt on the top today... just living one day at a time." We are superwomen, but I give the moms of higher order multiples much respect because at least I had two arms to go around.

I love those moments - when people look at you incredulously and ask how you do it. I kick a$$! That's how! :D

This story about my grandma and her twin infant girls always cracks me up... this was pre-modern conveniences of course... She had an old wooden rocking chair that she nursed all her children in (the twins were numbers 5 and 6 of 7 kids). It was one of the first days she'd be home alone with the twins, managed to get them both and herself all settled in the rocking chair for some early morning nursing and after awhile realized she couldn't get up from the chair!! She sat in that chair nursing and letting the tiny babies nap in her arms most of the day until my grandpa came home from work. Luckily he came home a little early that day....! SUPERWOMAN!!!!

Awesome moment! I still strikes me funny to hear people say, "Twins, I don't know how you do it." We twin (or more) parents rock!

My great-grandmother had twin sons (my grandpa and his brother). They were preemies, and she had to put them in the oven to keep them warm when they first came home (not sure how that worked!) She died before I got pregnant, but I have always wished I talked to her more about what it was like having twinfants in the 20s. They were identicals and really a novelty too.

i have a master's degree, i had a great career for 17 years, i've rec'd tons of awards for my teaching, i am nationally board certified (at the time i got this only 10k teachers in the country had it), i've spoken before big audiences, i've organized giant events.... but in all my life i've never felt more accomplished than when i was able to get out the door on time w/my two little guys for the first time!... and the list of my new acoomplishments goes on and on (including things i never thought a person could do w/only one hand, or her nose, feet, etc). it's amazing all the things we can get done in a day!!

    woo hoo for twin mamas!!!!!!!!

YES... my mom said they did the same to my grandmother/great aunt... and that they were so tiny they slept in shoe boxes... except they were home births...
