I know there are lots better things to complain about, but here it is 9 in the morning and I have already been spit up on 4 times (3 by DS and 1 by DD). I am so sick of changing shirts, smelling like formula, changing onesies, cleaning off the couch. I thought this was supposed to get better with time, it seems like it is getting worse. Both babies are "happy spitters", and the reflux meds made no difference so we took them off.

I just would like for one day (heck I would take 1/2 day) where I do not get puked on!!!!!!!

    Hang in there!

When we started solids at 6 months, my 'happy spitter' got much better!

She even impressed the pedi the day we were there for their 6 mo checkup :D She spit up no less than 6x the hour we were there, lol. He said he hadn't even seen kids who's parents said they were throwing up every 5 minutes let loose that often while they were there.

Have you tried cereal in their bottles? It greatly helped us with lessening the amount of spit-up. I made it thick, with 2tsp per oz. :hug99: Reflux is horrible.

Reflux supposedly peaks from 4-6 months, so hang in there!

I can totally relate!! (I took them in Wed to get weighed hoping to adjust their meds.)
Without fail EVERY TIME I get to shower someone pukes on me within minutes! It doesnt matter what time of day it was or when they last ate.

I so feel for you. I am still getting puked on several times a day. I will say this though, IT IS getting better. It is still there, but it is getting better. At their last appointment Thomas let go all over the poor Doctor.

Cereal did help, but it did not solve the problem. I would try it if I were you!

I feel for you. My DS was a big time puker. He was nicknamed Pukzilla by his uncle. The only thing I found that seemed to help a little was making the formula 24 hours in advance so the bubbles settled by the time he drank it. He finally grew out of it.

Hang in there, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I just said this same thing to DH last night. I'm sick of being puked on, being wet etc. I might as well just be naked all day.

First of all I want to say, BTDT. I know how you feel. My one dd Lorien would literally spit up about 10-12 times per day!!! This went on for about a couple of months and I swear I barely ever left the house because I couldn't deal with the constant changing of clothes (for both her and me!).

I just want to add that I hope you didn't take them off the meds because the spit up didn't stop. The meds are NOT meant to stop them from spitting up. Only to stop the pain associated with reflux. The only thing that helped my dd with the spitting up (and both my girls had reflux) was to add cereal to the bottle which the ped suggested. You may want to talk to your ped about it. We first put 1 teaspoon for every 2 ounces of formula and that cut her spit ups in half. She was now only spitting up 6 times or so a day which was much better than 10-12. I spoke to the ped and they said I could up them amount of cereal so we started putting 1 teaspoon per 1 ounce and she was only spitting up 1-2 times per day and then after a week or 2, almost no spit up at all. I feel like our quality of life changed and felt better about going out and about with them. GL and hope it gets resolved.

Arwen was diagnosed with reflux at 2 months and her reflux ended around 4.5 months. Lorien was diagnosed at 3 months and hers ended around 6 or 7 months. Hang in there. I know it's tough but this too shall pass.

No, we took them off the meds because it didn't make a difference. Neither baby seems to be in pain, and they eat really well, so the pedi wasn't positive that it was necessarily reflux, she said to try the meds for a week and if nothing changed, to stop them. I am thinking about starting with the cereal, but since they will be 4 months next week, I was just going to add it as a meal, as opposed to putting it in each bottle. We don't go to the pedi for another 2 weeks, so I'm not exactly sure what to do. We do make the bottles up ahead of time like a pp suggested to get rid of the bubbles, that has helped alot with their gassiness.

Eventho u r starting cereal as a meal, it doesnt help the spitting up the way putting it in their bottle does. i thought the same thing but it has to be the consistency of the bottle (sorry cant remember the exact explanation lol) but our little girl absolutely would not drink her bottle with cereal in it and just this wkend she got cereal in her formula by accident and has done great w/ the spitting so we r going to continue with it. She is also a happy spitter but spits ALL DAY LONG!!! at their 6 month appt they TRASHED the drs office lol its just never ending -and she is on Zantac 3x/day. SO try the cereal in her bottle! we do 1tsp per oz.
