You know I rarely rant about anything, but this is DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!

I put Esther in bed the same time as everyone else, ten minutes later she climbs out of her crib and comes to me. I put her back into her bed. This goes on over and over. I have done this "super nanny style" and just continued to put her back into her bed over and over, well SIX HOURS after that started I said screw it and went to bed while she watched Barney!! So then I went to our normal route of discipline and spanked her... every time she got out of bed!! Well that went on for... well too long!

But you know what makes it worse? If daddy is here he only has to tell her / spank her ONCE and SHE STAYS IN BED!!! EERRR!

I also feel bad for Ruthie because they share a room and she is a GREAT sleeper, but she has to put up with Esther getting out of bed and making all that racket!!!

Anyway, I just put her in bed for the 5th time... Hopefully this one sticks! :) Thanks for letting me rant.

    What a pain, sorry.

Maybe she would not keep getting up if she was not allowed to watch TV or play with toys and just had to sit quietly in the dark when she got up.

Oh my goodness! I just came on here to rant about the exact same thing. I am right there with ya! Almost at the end of my rope!!! Kara is driving me crazy! She gets up all the time and stays up for several hours. Up and down. I keep putting her back over and over, then getting mad and spanking, which I hate to do. Kiley usually just lays there and says "my no get up bed", I feel bad for her too, because she is a really good sleeper. Daddy has been away for about a week, which stinks because she does seem to respond to him better!! My mom suggested telling them that they will get a sticker or a treat if they stay in bed all night. I might try that if things don't get better soon. Kara is also being more aggressive with Kiley during the day, like biting, pushing and throwing things at her. I don't know what that is all about, maybe it's b/c she's overtired. They aren't doing so well with naps either as Kara gets up and goes to play with Kiley in her bed, ! What can I do about that? The only thing I can think of is a reward chart with stickers or a lollipop or something, like my mom suggested. I agree with twoplustwo-if you give in and let them do what they want it makes it harder to get them to stay in bed in the long run. I so just want to grab her up in the middle of the night and put her in bed with me, just so we can get some sleep, but I don't want her to get used to that and expect to be able to do that every night! It is so frustrating though, it makes you feel so out of control and exasperated :( !
