My girls are 7 1/2 months and still spit-up. I want them to have plenty of floor time so they learn to crawl and perfect their sitting-up skills but my gosh when are they going to quit spitting up. After they eat a bottle and/or food I put them in their bouncies because if I put them on the floor they are instantly on their tummies and then spit-up is all over my floor. I just cleaned the carpets 2 days ago and I don't want it ruined anymore than it already is! If I sit them up they spit up too because their is pressure on their tummies. Next thing you know they will be crawling and still spittin up. Just needed to vent! Anyone else STILL dealing with this?

    Thanks for listening!

Yes!!! We just bought a new house and my sister and I were playing with the babies on the floor and as she put it, "they threw up 85 times in 5 minutes!". I am hoping it stops soon. Luckily the carpet in the basement is off white.

Oh I totally know what you mean! We built a new home and moved in when the boys were a month old and they have spit up all over the carpet in their room and the area rug in the living room. ugggh

Our DD was a huge spitter and it is just now getting better (but she still spits up some.. just not the buckets she used to).. I think it started getting better a couple of weeks ago (around 7 1/2 months--6 adjusted). I couldn't believe it and still hold my breath thinking it'll come back with a vengence... but so far it hasn't... The good thing is even if it does continue, you can KNOW that there will be an end to it.... eventually :)

Yep, we have to get our carpet cleaned (on the first floor) again for the second time this year. The good news is they don't spit up much anymore :).

Not anymore, but for a long time we had spit-up, vomit, barf every day. We had to roll up the oriental rug and put it away. I thought we were going to have to burn our couch that had been barfed at least a 100 times. Thankfully I was able to remove the covers and wash them. Don't worry it will get better once they start moving around and eating more solids.

We use Resolve carpet cleaner to get most of the stains out. We do plan on getting our carpet cleaned sometime in the near future. It is frustrating but they will get past this stage!

yep, my boys both spit up lots, I thought it would somewhat stop when the started eating solids but no way, I have a hard time with belly time too because the minute you put them down, they spit up. One of my DS even spit up carrots inside his coat yesterday while we were out for a walk, I have about 24 bibs and use at least 12 a day. I even mentioned it to the Dr. today and she said its normal! Its so frustrating

You know, if I had to do it all over again, I would have bought those 6 by 9 or 9 by 12 carpets that you can get at home depot. they are not remnants so they usually have finished edges. they are usually only about 20 dollars and you can lay them right on top of your carpet. They usually come in various solid colors. I used to use them in my kindergarten classroom and then change them half way through the year. It may not be the nicest looking thing but at least you can save your carpet and then not worry about tossing them once the spit up ends because they are not too expensive. Just an idea for you.

One of the best investments we have made were mats from Sams. At first we just covered an 8x8 play area in our dining room which was tile so it needed some softening. Then after we realized how nice it was just to be able to wipe up the spit up and disenfect once in a while we put some in the living room where the boys spend some time, too. Between that and the leather couches that wipe right off we are set. Other than the baby paraphanelia you wouldn't even know we had kids much less mass spitting monkeys.
