I was on bedrest from 23-36 weeks with a 9 day hospital stay around 25 weeks because of a placental rupture!!! My wonderful babies arrived at 36 weeks and 1 day! I have to tell you that life is so much better once they arrived healthy than when they were in my tummy! It was such a relief! I had been on the terbutaline pump for about 7 weeks, with twice daily and sometimes more contraction monitoring. Life was crazy!! IT STILL IS, BUT SO MUCH MORE FULLFILLING!!!

Hang in there! What you are doing now is so worthwhile!!!!
Have a wonderful day and look forward to the exciting days to come!

I agree - i spent 6 weeks in the hosptial hooked up to the HR monitors - only aloud to shower each day - even had my potty seat right next to the bed!! It was a tough 6 weeks but my babies were safely delivered at 32 weeks. I left my 2 year old son behind and that was very hard but it was all worth it. I would do it again in an instant. My girls are now 15 months old and doing great.

To those out there on bedrest - keep up the good work - in a few months, you will be hoping for a day to lay in bed!!

I'm in my 5th week of bedrest at home, I'm hoping to avoid the hospital bedrest for now...

It seems to be working - in my case, it's not pre-term labor or anything, but instead growth issues and TTTS.

I know it will pay off if I can keep it up - funny how you get used to it after a while!

You will find days that you are very depresessed. I cried alot but knew it was best for my girls to be in the hospital. I just kept thinking it will end and I need to do all I can. It worked. I was still upset but time does pass. I just looked forward to different times in the day - when my husband and son would come or when something good was on TV. I was hooked on talk shows!!! It is normal to feel sad and it is OK -

So great to hear from others going through the same thing as me... I'm 24 weeks, 5 days and have already had a surgical circlage performed and been on hospital bed rest for nearly 2 weeks. It's hard being here and not comfotable at home, but we're just taking it one day at a time for the babies, because I hopefully still have a ways to go. I've found that if I try to get myself on a bit of a schedule (as far as eating meals, daily shower, reading, shows, etc.) it does make the day go a bit faster. Doing things that are productive, like paying bills on-line, starting baby books, writing Thank You's also makes me feel like I am still contributing to the family at least a little bit. Hang in there and drop me a line if you want.

On the note of passing the time! I crocheted each of the babies a blanket, just for them from Mommy! And then the carpal tunal set in and I could not even do that! My DH got me a game boy advaced game system for Christmas and I played TETRIS or Dr. Mario a lot!! Just to pass some time!
I started and kept updating our family website. http://our2newlittleones.aboutmybaby.com I still love going back and reading all of that!! It was a great way to journal and it is wonderful and still makes me cry when I go back and read all of the emotions I expressed during that time. I HAD SOME WONDERFUL FRIENDS! I know I would have never made it without them!!! They would come over and just sit with me. I also had my wonderful dd who was 2 1/2 at the time so we would "play" at the coffee table beside the couch since that seemed to be my home base! I remember being in so much pain and we could almost litterally watch my skin stretch! I CRIED ALL THE TIME AND I RANTED SOME IF THE TIME!!!!! I tried to do most of my ranting on TS as there was plenty of company there!! :) But every once in a while it spilled over to the home.
I THINK THE KEY IS ~TAKE EACH DAY, ONE MOMENT AT A TIME and SET SMALL GOALS WITH HUGE VICTORIES!!!~
I would set small goals like weight goals for the babies, acceptable due dates and what to expect at each of those marks, ALONG WITH A REWARD FOR COMPLETING SAID GOAL. For example I knew I had to make it to 29 weeks for viability!! So that was my first goal, but with that came extended NICU time so I was just preparing for that. Reward, Mickey D's French Fries from the drive through after apt!! Once I made it past that I would make it 30 weeks and so on. Other Rewards~Kohl's in a wheel chair after dr. appt for bigger bras! ~ Ice Cream Cone~ Toe Nails painted by a friend or dh ~ And so forth! Anything that floats your boat at that time. MY big goal was 36 weeks! take the terb pump out and TAKE A BATH!!!!!!!!! (That one backfired! I waited until that evening to take that bath and ended up having to monitor for 2 hours!!!! Of course then it was too late! SO, I was going to do it the next day! Well the babies arrived at 6:59 & 7 pm the next day! Would you believe due to crazy circumstances, a move and so on that it was a year before I got that bath?!?!?!? LOL! :) But it did get me through th day.) I could never look at full term because it was way to far off and I knew I WOULD NEVER make it to that point! But I did make it to 36.1 weeks and never expected to make it that far, especially when everything started at 23 weeks and even more so with the placental rupture at 25!!! Hang in there!! You can do it!!! Keep up the good work!!! I am so proud of each of you!! BTW DElivery Reward!!!!! My wonderful 2 BABIES IN MY ARMS GOING HOME WITH ME!!! WORTH EVERY SECOND OF PAIN AND EVERY TEAR I CRIED!!!!
Feel free to pm anytime!! :) LOTS of HUGS! :love0028:
