Hello Everyone! Well, my inevitable bed rest is here. I am actually in the hospital right now but hopefully going home today for strict bed rest at home. On Sunday night, I was laying in bed watching tv when I had to go to the bathroom and when I sat up, I noticed wetness between my legs. When I looked down it was blood! I was so scared. Then I got a pillow case to put between my legs and when I got up I noticed a large blood clot on the bed (medics said baseball sized). I thought for sure I was losing a baby or both babies. We called 911 and they got there so fast. The bleeding stopped before we even got out the door but found out at the hospital that the marginal placenta previa with Baby A actually turned into complete previa and the blood was from the complete previa. At any rate, they wanted me here for 36 hours for observation. I have had some uterine irritability and less than three contractions in an hour so I will go home until I inevitably end up having bleeding again with any dilation. At that point, I will either deliver the babies or I will have hospital stayed bed rest.

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My hospital has wireless so it is awesome to stay connected with everyone on this site!

Yikes! I can't even imagine how freaked out you must have been! I'm glad that everyone is okay though. I went on bedrest at 29 weeks 5 days. Every day/week you can hang on is such a huge milestone and makes every minute of bedrest worth while. Welcome to the bedrest club!

It's quite frightening what happened with you. Thanks God that everything turned out OK.

Yet, f I were in your place and at this advanced stage of pregnancy I would have definitely opted for the hospital bed rest. Anyway, you just follow your Dr.'s advices.

    Good luck.

Thank you for your replies. I am scared being home but thankfully have at least one family member here at all times and the hospital is less than 10 minutes away so that is a little reassuring. However, I am starting to think I would be more comfortable in the hospital again. Every time I move I think that something is going to happen and to top it all off, I just started getting a cold so it is a difficult to breathe with the babies pushing on me and my congested lungs. If I have any hint of bleeding again, my bed rest will be hospital for the remainder of the time.

I'm sorry about the cold! That is just miserable while you are pregnant.

As far as being home vs. the hospital, I totally understand! At least at the hospital you can relax some since you know that you are being monitored very closely. Give your doc a call if you question anything at all.

    Hang in there.
