I had an u/s yesterday and my funneling wasnt much better. It was 1.3 cm when I went in and only up to 1.4 cm yesterday. I was sure they wouldn't let me come home but they did. I am glad to be home but a little nervous with it still being like that.
The babies are doing great and Evan weighs 2lb14oz while Avery weighs 2lb9oz so far. She was head down at my cervix and we could see it funneling and then going back a little as she moved. Evan is laying transverse at the top and I just hope he doesn't push her down.
I go back to see my doctor in a week. I don't think he was part of the decision to let me come home on bedrest, so we will see if he tells me to go back to the hospital. I hope not though! I will be good at home just so I don't have to go back!!!!
I haven't been as good on my diet my first day home, but I sent Dh to the grocery store to get things that I will eat and that aren't bad for the diabetes. I am so ready for some junk food or fast food though!

No one was kidding when they told me that the 3rd trimester is uncomfortable. My crotch hurts like someone kicked me from all the pressure and it is so hard to get comfortable with this big ol' belly. I keep saying it will be worth it when they are here... I just have to keep telling myself that.

hang in there - all this discomfort will pay off! I made it to 37 weeks and the babies came home with me. Both heads were wedged in my pelvis causing it to separate so I understand your pelvic pain. My belly measured 44cm at the end and it hurt to move, sleep, roll over in bed, etc! But I have healthy babies. It will all be worth it in the end!

Welcome home!!! Glad to hear that things are stable for now. And let us know how your appt goes. Seems to me, that your doc would have been involved in the decision to discharge you (I say that because mine was VERY involved in making sure that I got the home care I needed before I was sent home). Stay off those feet!!! You have made it so far, that is great!!!

Welcome home is right! At least you'll be able to manage the food better, it seems. Sorry you are suffering so much: somehow the time will pass and they will be here (at least that's what i keep telling myself when i'm getting kicked in the cervix!)

    Hang in there.

I am glad you are home, too. I just went through something similar. I was hospitalized, diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and then went home on bedrest.

I was dilated 2 cms, and almost completely effaced with funneling as well.

I have made it to 37 weeks, and may even be induced next weeks.

My doctors treatment plan in the hospital was IV antibiotics, steriod shots to improve development of the twins, and strict bedrest.

I don't think that the doctors always know to tell you to drink at least 120 ozs. of water a day. This will help, although you go to bathroom, it helps the babies stay in there.

Also, I found many low-carb foods that are delicious at whole foods or have a family member go to a health food store. They tend to put less sugar in food.

    Anyway, hang in there!
