What in the heck is going on, my 10 wk olds were doing pretty good sleeping in their cribs in their rooms and now they don't want to sleep, they fight it with all their might, they hate being swaddled, they hate everything and I can't take it anymore. I don't know what else to do, I watch for the signs and instantly swaddled them and then the screaming starts, not kidding they hate it. But yet they don't do well unswaddled either. I try with everything I have to make sure they aren't up for more than 1-2 hours. This am I put Emerson in the crib and 5 mins later she is crying and won't have anything to do with being soothed. They do great it seems if I put them in the bouncer but why all of a sudden do they want nothing to do with the crib. Wierd thing is, is that at night they do fairly well in the crib. I sometimes have to move one to the boucer. Please help, I feel miserable and at this point hate being a SAHM!

I am sorry-I can only suggest starting to get them ready for nap ahead of time by limiting visual stimulation and noise at the first sign of tiredness and then making sure they are sound asleep before you stop patting and shushing. This is what works best for me. I also use a white noise machine that helps sooth them back to sleep if they happen to wake. Good luck, hopefully it is just a little phase. Otherwise let them sleep in a swing if that works, it is no big deal. Whatever works is my moto!

I just started using white noise in the boys room. A radio on a station that is all static...boy it has made a HUGE difference. Before I couldn't lay them down till they were in a dead sleep, now they can lay down semi asleep. I just leave it on the entire time they are sleeping. Shoot, I can't sleep without white noise, I have a fan I use in my room, so to me it makes sense.

I'm by no means an expert on anything, but what I would do is just let them nap whereever they will nap. I have decided that it is more important THAT they sleep than WHERE they sleep. So they nap in bouncy seats and swings. They do really well in the cribs at night, but I don't hesitate to put them in swings if necessary. The way I see it, they are too young for CIO right now, and I am too darn tired to have them not sleep. Letting them sleep where they are happy makes all of us happier! JMO - good luck!

If they're sleeping well in one place for a nap, I'd definitely let them do that at this point.

We sometimes did tummy-time or other exercise to wear them out enough to sleep well.

Hope things get back into a good routine soon!!!

I never fight mine for naps (they are about 8 weeks adjusted). They sleep whenever and where ever they want. Usually it's in their papasan chairs. Sometimes they fall asleep in their high chairs (we have ones that recline and they like to sit in them when I'm working in the kitchen so they can be part of the action) and I just leave them there until they wake up. I've gotten a lot of "advice" from friends that they should be on more of a schedule and that I shouldn't let them sleep "x amount of time" before bed, etc. But, guess what, they sleep great at night, so I'm with the PPs and say do whatever works.

When my girls were younger, they would take naps in their swings all the time. Now they go into their cribs just fine. So I would just let them nap wherever they want!

At that age they napped whenever, where-ever. While it was tough because I couldn't plan much I didn't last forever. Favorite places to nap were: the boppy pillow on the couch next to me, their swings, their bouncy chairs, the floor on their activity mat, in the pnp, in the Bjorn while I did other things, on my chest, etc etc. I can't remember when we stopped swaddling... but when they fell asleep in these other places, they didn't need to be swaddled.
