Okay, imagine this scenario (for most of you that won't be hard, I know): DD1 has finally closed her eyes for a nap and is sound asleep in her boppy. DD2 has also decided to suprise mommy with a nap after 20 minutes of hard work on mommy's part. Mommy is JUST about to put DD2 down in her boppy when the cat saunters up to DD1, lays on her legs and proceeds to lick her hand. Mommy can't prevent this as she is holding DD2 and can't risk waking her in order to lunge for the cat. DD1 wakes crying, DD2 also begins to cry, as does mommy, who realizes that her possible 20-45 minutes of free time is now down the drain.
I can't decide whether to turn him into a rug or stuff him. Any suggestions?

[IMG] I'm thinking stuffed and mounted on the wall to watch over the family [IMG](for the record....we are kidding)

I used to go through that when the dog would bark at someone walking down the street [IMG]

Oh boy, do I ever know what you are talking about except ours is a dog. On numerous occasions I have gotten both girls down for a nap in their bouncy chairs when the dog decides to wake up and shake really hard, flapping his ears right beside the girls. Grrrrr! I love him to bits BUT he just doesn't understand that he shouldn't do that. [IMG]

Not funny I know but I let out a chuckle as I read your post only because my big dog a chow chow does this to me frequently. Only he barks as loud as he can. I want to kill him sometimes! so I know how you feel!

Hahaha, that made me smile. [IMG] My cat always decides that after rocking and rocking and finally putting a baby in the crib, that that is the moment to start meowing her fool head off. And the more I say "Shhhhhhhhhhh!" the more she meows ... sigh.

Whatever you decide to do...I'm right behind you! Mine decides to wreck every single piece of furniture in this house in retaliation of these creatures taking over his space! So when I yell at him of course I startle sleeping babies and they start to scream! ARGH! He's an indoor cat and I keep telling my husband I'm going to "forget" to close the door one of these days. Not that I really would as I do love him but boy can I relate to your frustration!

Totally can relate! We have 2 cats and 2 dogs. Thankfully the cats stay away from the babies mostly, but it's the dogs for us. They like to wait until the babies have fallen asleep in their bouncy seats and then will go up and lick them. Argh!

Imagine that same scenario, but the cat is now a 2 yr old girl who walks into the bedroom by banging the door open like a gunshot and loudly exclaiming: "Mommy! I found you!" [IMG] I FEEL your pain, I do, and I don't have the option of turning her into a rug OR stuffing her. [IMG]

You can't have the 2 yr old mounted and stuffed, however the 7 year old should know better. Or to top it all off, both twins asleep in the boppy when the 7 year old chases the cat into the living room. The cat jumps on the back of the couch to get away... need I say more. I love boys, and I guess that's a good thing!

My daughter's girls are 6 weeks old and the best place they sleep is in their swings. Daughter also has two dogs and guess what their favorite game is---STOP THE SWING WITH THEIR NOSES!!!!!!!!!!! aND a stopped swing means an unhappy baby. Gotta love our pets!!!!!!!!!!

We didn't have the cat problem but our phone always seems ring right near that sleeping baby! [IMG] It never ends I tell ya! [IMG]

I know what you mean. My cat likes to give a cry up and down the hall like someone is torturing her until I call her name or go get her. She of course does this at the most inopportune time (trying to get them to fall asleep) so I have to decide do I yell for the cat and bother the babies or let the cat keep meowing and bother the babies.

OMG I can relate to you. I have to say it is my Ferret that does this though he just can't wait for them to go to sleep as for my twins always end up falling asleep on there play time blanket I made them as soon as they are both asleep on the blanket here comes Harley slinking in to cuddle with them its so cute till he licks there nose and they wake up. Some time I think about mounting him on my wall but i have to laugh sometime cause its just to cute.

I am having cat issues also. Ours seem to think that just about the time i get the twins to bed for the night that its there time to chase each other like mad around the house, in each bed room and down the hall. I want to hold out a large frying pan and let them run into it as they come flying down the hall like in a cartoon [IMG]

I have to walk our dog past both their bedrooms to give him his dinner and take him out for a wee. after many, many wake ups he is now grabbed by the scruff of the neck and almost lifted off the ground then whisked to the back of the laundry for the inevitable shake. What is it with dogs and shaking? I never even noticed it until the boys arrived, now it drives me insane!

Oh, Thank You all -i am laughing so hard one of my babies just rolled over (they're still inside, I come here for a glimpse of what life will be like when they're here)

I particularly liked the image of holding out a cast iron skillet, like in a cartoon.... [IMG]

Imagine a beagle baying at nothing in the street, during naptime! I'm gonna make meatballs out of her.

I have 5 dogs, luckily my girls can sleep through just about anything so their barking doesnt wake them up. Their not big barkers so I got lucky there too!
