Hi Jamie! Welcome to TS and congratulations on your twin pregnancy. How far along are you? Just because you are having twins does not neccesarily mean that you will have to have a c-section, there are a lot of different factors that come into play when making that decision like the position of the babies, the health of the babies etc... You should definitely talk to your Dr about that. I was in the hospital for 4 days following my c-section, and my DH was allowed in the room with me.

I agree with what Kyrstyn wrote. Definately talk to your doctor about both types of delieveries. :good: I was in the hospital for three days after my c/s and my husband was allowed in the room with me.

    Hi Jamie & :welcome:!

I also had a c-section & was in the hospital for 3 days. My DH was in the OR with me during the c-section & even was allowed to videotape as soon as they got our girls out :good:

Congrats on your twins and :welcome: to TS.

I had a c-section and DH was in there the whole time. I went home 5 days later, but I had complications before hand so I knew I wasnt going home right away. Best of luck for a healthy pregnancy.

Yeah, there definately isn't any reason to say you should have to have a c/s at this point. :good:

Hi Jamie and congratulations on both your pregnancy and upcoming wedding :) You've got a wonderful year ahead of you.

Like PP have said, its really to early to know whether you'll deliver vaginally or have a c-section. In either case, I don't know of any reason why your husband couldn't be there to support you. How you deliver really depends on the babies' postitions further on in your pregnancy, especially that of Twin A. My Twin A was head down, but Twin B was transverse breech. With twins, you normally deliver in the OR just in case. I delivered Twin A vaginally, and then the plan was to try and turn Twin B using an extra doctor and the ultrasound machine. If it didn't work, then I would have had a c-section. Thankfully all went well, an Twin B was born vaginally 3 minutes later. You'll probably have more of an idea when you are past 30 or so weeks. Right now there is plenty of room in Mum's tummy for everyone!

    Hi!

While it is too early to tell whether or not you will need a c-section, I'll share my c/s experience when I had my daughter. They did not let my husband into the operating room while they were doing the anesthesia (I wish he could have been there), but as soon as I was all set to go on the table, he came in- all dressed in scrubs. He had a little chair to sit in right by where my head was, and he stayed behind the curtain with me.

When my daughter was born, he got to hold her right away- pretty much the whole time while they were there in the operating room. We both cried- it was such a beautiful experience.

Also, it might vary from hospital to hospital, but he got to sleep in my room at the hospital- he had a fold-out bed to sleep on.

I was very scared about giving birth- both vaginally and surgically, but it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I am a big weenie when it comes to pain- I hate exams, flu shots, etc. It was really not bad at all, and my scar is tiny and barely noticeable.

Good luck- this is a great place to ask questions abut twin pregnancy. I hope you get to have whatever kind of birth experience that you want! :)

Hi Jamie, Congratulations on your pregnancy! We just had boy/girl twins 6 weeks ago, I am 24 as well...

I was lucky enough that I didn't have to have a c-section...just like other ladies have said, it depends on the position of the babies and what your doctor says...but we had a pretty easy time of it, honestly...I carried for 38 weeks and my husband was with me the whole time in the hospital. We stayed the normal length of time you usually stay in after a pregnancy, about two days. Good luck and congrats again on your pregnancy and your marriage!

    Jessie
