It was a busy day for us today. First I went to the Dr and took my 1 hr glucose test. I passed thank goodness!!
Then I had a whole day of grocery shopping planned. I am getting big and I just dont have the energy to do the shopping so I had a big list of items that should last us a month. My sister came with me thank goodness to help me with my girls. I think we shopped for a good 3 hours or more. We then went to PetSmart as a reward for my girls for being so good and helping me today. Its their favorite place to go!! Then I had to go exchange some shoes. By now it was about 4 1/2 hours of shopping and walking around. I rested between stores, but I was really getting tired. I live 40 minutes away from the town I was shopping in. I was 8 miles from home and all of a sudden everything started spinning really fast and I couldnt see for a second. I quickly pulled over and just had to sit there with my eyes closed for a couple minutes. I opened my eyes and was about to start driving when it started spinning again. I sat for a couple more minutes until I knew it was safe for me to drive. My sister cant drive a van,(dont ask me why) so I had no choice but to drive home. I am drinking alot of water right now incase I am dehydrated, but I dont think I am. My face is tingly still, but that started last night but I havent really thought anything about it until this happened. My hands have been going numb alot too but that happened when I was pregnant with my twins and I was told not to worry about it. I am going to call my DR tomorrow and let him know what happened. It has scared me to death. I think I am done driving now, I cant chance this happeneing again. Has anyone had this happen to them? Is this normal? I am just totally freaked out at this point and wish my Dr was open to ease my mind. I cant get the thought out of my head that I could have seriously hurt my family today.

Isn't dizziness a side effect of the glucose stuff? I can't remember, but I thought it might be. I did have some dizziness during my twin pregnancy. I actually passed out in the dr. office at one time while waiting for an u/s. It is scary. Just take it easy and make sure to keep something in your stomach.

Be Careful!!! I would go into the doctor's office too if I were you- glucose test related or not. That is just too scary.

I'm glad you are all right!

I never thought it could be related to the glucose test because it had been 6 hours since I took the test, and I ate after I took it the test too. :unknw:

it certainly does sound as though your blood sugar may have dropped too low

Blood sugar drop out if I had to guess. Although you had eaten after the test, how long had it been since you had eaten? If you ate right after the test you might have actually made it hold off just a bit. I had that hot flushed dizzy feeling with DD once (the one and only time I did Black Friday shopping), but i was only 12ish weeks along at the time. If you are concerned definitely contact your OB, until then get your sister driving a van, cause letting you continue to drive wasn't safe no matter what her phobias are.

I had a terrible dizzy spell when I was pregnant with the twins. L&D and the doctor both told me it was because I was doing too much, plus it was the heat of summer and I was pregnant with twins.

Maybe it was just your body trying to tell you to slow down. I would definately call the doc just to make sure though.

I was incredibly nauseous and felt gross ALL DAY after I had my glucose test. I hate that stuff, it makes me feel so 'weird'. Would def call and ask your dr about it though.

That's really scary!! I would guess that your blood sugar dropped way too low and was taking a long time to come back up. How are you feeling today?

:hug99: How scary Becca!! I get bad dizzy spells when I drive for too long at a time. So, if I have to go anywhere more than down to my mom's (10 minutes) I make sure I have someone that can take over driving for me if need be. I'm glad you are okay.
    How are you feeling today?

Thank goodness you and your family are okay!

After my glucouse test I remember feeling dizzy and leaving the doc's office praying I wouldn't pass out or crash. Luckily I didn't, but it is scary. I would definately call the doc just so they are aware of the situation.

Thank you everyone being concerned. I tried to rest as much as I could last night. I laid on the couch while my girls had a picnic dinner on the floor in the living room. After they went to bed I took a nice hot bath drank more water and started feeling better. The tingling in my face is gone now too. I plan on just taking it easy today. I have a DR appt next week, but I am going to call and at least let him know this happened.
