How's everyone handling time change / schedules?

I was just looking for some words of advice on the time change thing. I should say that BOTH my girls have slept through the night for the past 2 nights now! But I was just wondering if you ladies are weaning feeding / bed times - ie. 15 minutes at a time etc. or are you just doing your regular times? I normally feed my girls dinner at 5:30 pm. With the time change, if I do it now, it would be 6:30 on their internal clocks - which is bedtime. I am / did feed them at 5:00 pm yesterday and they went to bed at 6:00 pm. It seemed to work out okay - except they were pretty tired during dinner and didn't eat very well. (not that I should be complaining as they slept great!) I will keep this up, trying a little later each day until they get used to eating again at 5:30 pm etc. I have daycare doing the same thing for their daytime routine. Tonight will be the test as they are on their "regular" schedule ie. regular naps as opposed to Sunday when they are with their Dad oin the afternoon. What has everyone else done or plan to do or have done in the past?? First time Mom here! TIA!

I have been feeding mine a bit earlier than normal due to the change. I guess I will just let it work itself out at some point.

Cold turkey here too. Not necessarily by choice, I just wasn't "with it" enough to think it through and realize that I should plan for the change! The boys did fine yesterday, today they woke up before 6am :shok: (they're usually up around 7-730.) So we'll see how tonight/tomorrow goes!

I started pushing back their schedule on Saturday. I didn't really plan to, but it just worked out that way because we all slept in Saturday morning until 8. Yesterday went well during the day, but my mellow baby started to pout and melt down around 6pm (since 7pm is their bedtime), so I fed them dinner and put them to bed a little early. This morning they both woke up and were partying down at 4:45am. Ug!!!! Thankfully they went back to sleep and then I got them up at 7 and followed our usual schedule. I hope we are back to normal now because we leave in 2 weeks to visit DH's family for t-day and we'll be an hour behind again... I do not want to wake up at 5am while on vacation so hopefully they will adjust.

I did feed them slightly earlier than their normal time, then put them to bed a little eariler and they woke up at their normal time.

We do kind of a cold turkey/weaning. We do our best to just get ourselves on the new schedule, usually with a bit of whining and crying. Unfortunately though for naps, if they are just falling asleep standing up and its too early, you kinda have no choice but to put them into bed. Usually it works out in less than a week.

Same here - the kids didn't seem to care. I went in Sunday morning and woke them at 8:00am the same as I always do. They were awake in bed but not complaining. I fed them at the same times as usual and all went well. I was the only one worried about it.

Cold turkey here as well. I ended up having to do 4 naps for DS yesterday vs. the normal 3 but was able to keep bedtime the same. Unfortunately, they were both up at 5:45 this morning so I just fed them in the room that we do our night feedings and put them both straight back into their cribs for continued night sleep after. They fussed a bit but fell asleep until I woke them at 8am. I am hoping this is what they needed to get back on track and tomorrow morning will not be such an early one.

The thing that gets me is that it is soooo bright out at 6:15am I cannot imagine how they are going to continue to sleep when it looks bright as day out. I know I had a hard time sleeping after they went back to bed this morning. I hate it being that bright so early in the morning and we have been having to do our before bed walk with the babies in the baby bjorns in the dark!! Yikes, they are going to be so confused...going on walks in the dark and sleeping in the light!

I forgot all about DLS time. And I paid for it in the end. Today was back to normal, but I had a couple of days of two very unhappy and sleep confused baby girls. This DLS stuff is for the birds! In a month or so, it's still going to be dark when it's early, so what's the big deal? Oh well.....

I've had fussy babies for the last two days since I have been trying to get them back on schedule pretty much cold turkey.

I'm surprised that mothers have not gotten together in protest of Daylight Savings Time because of how it can screw up naps, feedings and babies who previously slept through the night!! I would join that march in a second! :)
