OK, we have picked out 4 names (we don't know the gender of our twins) Just not sure which way we'd spell the 1st girl name. What's your opinion?

    Girl names: Megan/ Meagan/ Meghan/ Meaghan Charlotte
    & Rebecca Ann

    Boy names: Thomas Graham
    & Cameron Stuart

If we have B/G we'll use the 1st from each
BTW we have a 2 year old daughter Alison Catherine

    Thanks in advance

Either Meghan or Megan (assuming you're pronouncing it the traditional way). Too much risk of teachers mispronouncing it with a variant spelling. I grew up with a name very similar to another much more popular name. I spent my whole school life correcting mispronunciations of my name. It was very frustrating for me. I don't even bother any more, just answer to the wrong name.

And online I have a name that no one ever gets wrong. I love having a name everyone can spell and say the first time they see it. :D

    HTH!

I would go with Megan (love the name BTW!). If you spell it Meagan, it's going to get pronounced "Mee-gan." (I'm assuming you were thinking "Meh-gan.")

But then, I named my kids Amy and Sarah -- common names, most common spelling of those names -- so that's obviously where I'm coming from. Megan was on my list too, but not in DH's top two.

There is NO name these days -- at least no girl's name -- that a child will never need to spell out loud. I thought we were safe with A&S, but we get "Is that A-M-Y or A-I-M-E-E?" and "Is that Sarah with an H or without?" But at least people can pronounce them.

I would also vote for Megan first and Meghan second. I would be inclinded to rhyme it with Teagan if it had ea in it.

Thanks for all of your input ladies,

I told DH that I had posted this question and he agreed with the comments that Meagan/ meaghan were NOs. We discussed the other two choices and I think we're going to go with Meghan

    Thanks so much!
