For the new mommies - how was your first Mother's Day?

My DH did very well - the night before he told me that I could sleep in as late as I wanted and he'd take care of the kids all morning. So I slept until 10am! It's been a very long time since I did that. Then, he made me breakfast. During breakfast he gave me a beautiful necklace from the boys - two gold hearts with a diamond and two rubies (the boys birthstones). We took the boys to the park for the first time, in their first wagon ride. We ended the day by going to dinner with family. All in all, a very nice day!

Wow! What a nice day!! I got two bouquets of flowers from my daughters PLUS an announcement in the newspaper! I wonder how they managed all that at six months old! :D

Good! Breakfast made by my boys and a nice homemade card (my favorite). Even got to paint my door and clean my shower (I never have time for those things).

Wow. Sounds like you all had a very nice 1st mom's day. Mine didn't go as hoped. Although I did have my parent's over for brunch and they really enjoyed it.

I got a card from my twins with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw tickets in it. Hmmmm....I have the best husband ever! Oh yeah and I got a DQ Blizzard cake that said Happy 1st Mothers Day on it...so delicious!

Mine started out a little rough (the boys slept terribly the night before, and I was beyond exhausted and GRUMPY ). But dh made me breakfast, gave me several very sweet gifts and let me take looong nap.

After the nap it was all good! Had some family over, went to the park etc. Owen and Ben gave me the best gift of all as they sat in their high chairs while we had brunch and giggled uncontrollably at me when I started smiling at them. It was priceless  .

I'm glad you had a good one! Mine started off great - DH made a beautiful shadow box with pictures of the boys and mementos from their birth along with a poem he wrote about being a mom inside. It was wonderful! Things went south after that - we visited my sweet grandmother who has been in ICU and then off to my in-laws for a "party" at a restaurant. DISASTER! The boys got off schedule (grrr) and were overstimulated, overtired and very, very fussy. We left early and I was up all night because they were so thrown off schedule. I hate when people mess with our schedule!!!!

Mine was okay. Other than still being in the middle of my mom drama it was good. DH procrastinated and went shopping in the morning, but at least he did it. In the afternoon we went on a drive to the mountains to scout out a place to go camping for Memorial Day, then we came home and we had his mom and dad over for dinner and watched the Jazz game. Then when they left, DH gave me my gifts and card. I got Night at the Museum and a card from the girls, and I got a card and "Chicken Soup for the new mother soul" from DH. So, all in all, it was a pretty good day. It could have been better had my mom been speaking to me, but that is antoher story.

Overall mine was good. The morning was as busy as all Sunday mornings. Getting ready and out the door for church is always crazy. While I was getting ready the kids were sitting on the floor in our room playing and DH said that Leah and Wes had a gift for me. I opened it and it was a lovely locket. Such a perfect gift! I was disappointed that I did not receive a card from him or the twins. I am such a card person and DH knows. I sent out probably about 15 cards for Mother's Day . . . I guess I get one for myself next year too. I didn't express this to DH because I was thankful for the necklace.

For the evening we went to BIL to celebrate his mom's birthday and Mother's Day. DH was very sweet and loving yesterday which means a lot!

I had a very nice one too. My dh got up with the girls and let me sleep in until 8:15 (that's LATE!) and then off to brunch we went. Just before we left he gave me a cute necklace with two little kid charms on it with their birthstone in the belly of the charm. The "girls" got me a nice Willow Tree figurine and dh also bought me a book I was talking about getting and some nice summery smelling lotion. The girls couldn't have been any better while we were out to brunch - present enough for me! Later in the day my dad, stepmom, g.ma and stepsister and her kids came over and we had a very nice visit.
