How to move really heavy furniture in LA?

Hey folks! I could use some advice. I’m relocating to a new house in Los Angeles, and while most of my stuff is easy to pack, I’ve got a couple of monsters — a solid wood piano that’s been in my family for years and a ridiculously heavy marble dining table. I can’t imagine trying to move these myself without breaking my back or destroying the furniture. Renting a truck and asking a couple of friends doesn’t seem like an option this time. Has anyone here actually hired specialists to move very heavy or bulky items? How did it go?

I know exactly what you’re talking about. When we moved last year, we had to transport a massive upright piano and a safe — both way too heavy to handle on our own. After a bit of research, I found movers for heavy items in Los Angeles who specialize in just that. The team came prepared with all the right equipment, padded wraps, and lifting gear. They managed to move the piano without a scratch and even navigated a tight staircase like pros. Honestly, I don’t think we could have pulled it off without them. The peace of mind was worth every penny.

That sounds perfect. Thanks a lot — I’ll definitely check them out, because I don’t want to risk damaging my piano.
