how to handle poo-explosions!

hi there !

a huge problem for me at the moment is nap time.. (the boys sleep just fine) but without fail every day when they wake up there is a wopper of a poo with extends outside the nappy.. (if not one of them, then both)

i change their nappies right before their nap, and have tried using cloth nappies over the top to try and catch the leakage. without success.
i have also tried leaving their naps until a little later in to see if they would do their business while awake. without success.

any suggestions much appreciated

 

Hmmm. Mine often poop while asleep but it isn't loose enough to explode out their diapers. Maybe feed them something to bind it a little more.

 

Can you use a bigger sized diaper for sleeping, or a better brand diaper for sleeping?

 

When blowouts start to happen I usually go up a diaper size and it works like a charm. It could be your LO's are inbetween sizes right now so go up one to save the leaks.

I just started using huggies nighttime diapers because the pampers diapers were exploding after all night or a long nap. This seems to work so far. Also the nighttime huggies are a bigger size.

 

My guys don't have naptime poo explosions (that must be very annoying, BTW!), but I do find the Huggies Overnights are the only thing that keeps them from leaking at night. They are more expensive, but totally worth it in my book! You might want to give them a try if they're available in your area. :good: Otherwise, you could look into plastic training pants, and see if that contains the poop!

 

When my girl was medication for reflux she would regularly have blow outs. I started putting a cloth diaper cover(link to my fav. ones) over her disposable.
Problem solved (well leaks and ruined bedding/clothes solved).

huggies night time nappies are on the shopping list ! the solution seems pretty simple/ easy.

:good: I was going to suggest either a bigger diaper size, or an overnight diaper! It works like a charm here too!
