Ok, mine suck and chew on their big time and after a day, it's sooooo gross smelling...it even makes me gag...they don't seem to mind though. I try washing it and putting it through and extra rinse cycle, but wondering if there are any tricks (baking soda????) that works for oders?

    Thanks!

Try baking soda and washing soda with a bit of oxi clean. wash on hot with an extra rinse cycle. oh, if you can sun dry them that would help as well. :)

How much baking soda? With the detergent or during the rinse cycle?

Yes, you can do with detergent. You need a very small amount of all combined...like one tablespoon for soft water and 2 tablespoons for hard water. Dump it all in the normal cycle on hot water with an extra rinse at the end. I make my own detergent, which is a powder so I'm not sure what it would be if liquid. Washing soda has directions on the side of the box, so I would go with that. :)

Our lo's lovies get so funky after a week or so and we pretty much do the same as the pp's and it works really well. We wash our lovies on hot, extra rinse, and throw a couple of tablespoons of baking soda in during the 1st rinse cycle. I've never tried sun drying them but that definitely makes sense, maybe I'll try that next time.

We use Oxy and vinegar when we wash ours. Gets the smell out and they are good as new.

You might try vinegar. We use that with our cloth diapers to help with the leftover odor. We do a cold rinse after the wash with the vinegar.

OMG I am SO relieved to know its just not my 2!! Theirs STINK SO BAD! I thought they were puking on them at night and they stay wet from the chewing..EWWWWWWW

Anyways, they get washed once a week or so at MIL. She watches them during the day and its easier for her to wash them because they have to have them for bed and we only have 1-2 hours some nights after getting home then its bedtime. BTW they are just washed with their regular clothes, no special treatment

We use oxy clean powder in the wash and it usually gets rid of the smell.
