Well, my kids have colored my sofa. [IMG] Any idea what is the best way to get this off? This is a sofa that we have had for years and it is still holding up. Unfortunately, it is white and blue and I'm concerned that if I clean the crayons off, I will have a very white patch on the sofa where I cleaned. Any hits? Hope you can help.

Last time mine colored on my couch I just used a wet rag and was able to scrub it off that way, no cleaners. If you do need something I would try dawn dish washing liquid or something like that for grease stains. Good luck getting it off!

Lava soap gets everything off in my house - including red lipstick washed and dryed with a white shirt.

You could also try something like Goo-Gone. In the past I have had a really hard time getting crayons out of clothing. We switched to washable crayons and they are much easier to clean up.

I didn't know there were washable crayons. I'll have to look for those. I've been buying the cheapest ones out there.

I tried using a wet rag and wipe it off, and it worked. It took some scrubbing, but it did work! [IMG] Yeah! What a simple solution. I should have tried that before posting. [IMG]

    Thanks for your responses. [IMG]

    Crayons are made of wax.

Do you have an iron? put down papertowels and iron the towels and the crayon should lift onto the paper towel.

I've done this with candle wax. Never tried it on crayons, but it should be the same process. Thankfully, my sons haven't colored the couch! Although, who knows, it's a dark couch! LOL

    This is straight from CRAYOLA:

How to remove Crayons (Regular) from carpet and upholstery:

    Cleaning Materials
    Dull knife or metal spoon
    Liquid dishwashing detergent
    Paper towels
    Small stiff bristle brush
    Sponge
    WD-40® (car part lubricant)

Side Note: My boys colored the carpet....eventually it just wore away. It is completely gone now.

We used Folex carpet spot remover. Worked like a charm. HTH!

Crayon removal at our house has been best with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It works on the hardwood floor, the black dining room chairs & my brown walls. I've never tried it on fabric, but it might be worth a shot.
