How to do this

This weekend is our annual Apple Blossom festival and there will be 250,000 people in our tiny town. the main parade is on Saturday and I would love to take the boys. DH hates crowds so he is not really happy about going so I will problaby just tell him to stay home. How in the world am I going to do this?? Once I get to where I'm going there will be all my friends to help out but how to get to them is the ?. I'm thinking the duo glider is out of the question. So my other option is to strap a baby on me and push the other in an umbrella stroller. But are they too little for an umbrella?? It has the 3 pt harness system and it reclines. They sit fine in the duo glider w/o the car seats, I just put the head support from the car seats in it. Or should I just say screw it and leave the boys home w/ dh (oh yea from my other post if you rememeber... dh is now watching the boys by himself) and go w. my friends and have a good time. I really would like to take them though, they would love staring at everone.

Am I crazy or is this doable??

We took the boys to SeaWorld last month. I took the DuoGlider, people see you coming and tend to get out of the way (and those who don't figure it out pretty quickly.) I think the shear size of it can be intimidating so I loved it, we seemed to get more room which was really helpful since we were keeping up with Micah too and he is at that independant- "Don't hold my hand!" stage (we attached a leash to his beltloop.)

I say put them both in the DuoGlider. We took the girls to a college football game in our double jogger. I pretty much just plowed through the crowd - they got out of my way pretty fast when they saw that giant stroller coming!!!

I would take the stroller, you will get tired of holding them at some point! Sounds so fun! Let us know how it goes!

Maybe using a baby carrier or baby sling? You could wear one baby and one of your friends could wear the other? That way you don't have to make way through crowds with strollers and it might be less overwhelming for the babies since they will feel more secure being nearer to you.
By all means go and have fun! If it doesn't work out you can always leave. But I'm sure it'll be fine and after that you will be fearless about outings. :)

Take the stroller at least if they get tired they can nap in it and if they are hungry you can feed them it also.

Take the stroller...that is what it is there for :)

Then again, if DH is willing to watch take them, I would take the time out for you and go with your friends. The break might be great for you!!! We all need it!

I think the stroller would be a good choice too, let us know how your outing goes.... :D

    Take the stroller!

I took my little ones in a sbs Combi today. I just made my way through the crowd as best as possible. Of course, people spent lots of time admiring the twins.

    Hope you have/had fun!

I would take them and the stroller. We are twin moms - we always find a way!

Well I had the boys out all weekend long and things went better than expected. If you have a stroller you can walk along the parade route instead of the crowded sidewalks, a plus. I saw so many double strollers and I would look and stare to see if it was twins, lol. I did meet so many other twin mommies.

I kinda felt bad for leaving them in their car seats for so long but they never made a peep. I think they liked all the noise. They didn't even ask to eat, I had realized 4.5 hrs had past and was like OMG I need to feed them.

Twin mommies are the best, isn't it funny how singleton mommies can't imagine having twins and don't know how we do it. Well I couldn't imagine just having one, I would problaby be bored, lol.

I grew up in your tiny little town, I bet! I took my three year old and my twins to the Firemans' parade on Friday, and they did really well. We have Valco Twin Runabout, with the toddler seat, and for the most part, people just gawked and moved out of the way. We used the parade route a bit, but mostly, since I know the town, we used streets one block over to avoid a lot of the crowds!
    Hope you had fun!
