How to choose a reliable auto repair shop: what to look for?

I’ve been thinking about switching repair shops lately. The one I’ve been using for years started cutting corners — they “fixed” my brakes last time, but they still squeak. Last winter, my Car won't start after their battery replacement, which didn’t give me much confidence either. What do you guys usually look for when picking a good and trustworthy mechanic? Reviews, certifications, or just word of mouth?

That’s a really good question. I went through something similar after my Car won't start unexpectedly one weekend. I tried https://www.vip-servicecenter.com/ because a friend recommended them, and it was such a different experience. They showed me the parts they replaced, explained the issue clearly, and didn’t try to upsell anything unnecessary. What I’ve learned is that transparency and clear communication are key signs you’ve found a good place.

Totally agree. I usually pay attention to how the staff treats you the first time you walk in — that says a lot. If they take time to listen and don’t rush the explanation, it’s a good sign. Price matters too, but peace of mind is worth more than saving a few bucks.
