I was just measuring my son (to see if it was worth going to Legoland for his 3rd birthday tomorrow) and he measures 40". Everyone always comments how tall he is and so I was just wondering if he really is tall. So how tall was your children at their 3 year appt?

One of my boys was 39 1/2 (~90 pertcentile) and the other was 37 3/4.

Both were 39", mine are considered tall as well. People always guess they're 4.

My ds was 41 inches at 3. He was tall enough to ride most of the rides at Dineyland when he was 32 month and we thought about putting him on Space Mountain but didn't want to traumatize him. Everyone always comment on how tall he is and guess he's around 4. My dd has always been about 3 inches shorter.

Both our boys are tall and usually are guessed as being 4yrs. They do seem much taller than the majority of their other 3yr old friends and relatives. At their 3yr appt, Ben was 39 1/2 in and Luke 40inch.

Consequently, I find that people expect alot from them and ask complicated questions sometimes. Whereas, my nephew (same age) is MUCH shorter but is preceived as being ultra intellegent by many people/strangers. Yet he does the same way that my boys do. He was 36inch at his 3yr appt in April (which is the same height that our boys were at their 2yr appt). It's intersting to see how height relates to things at this age.

^yeah, we've been battling that issue forever, it stinks.
Berkley has always been off the charts, and I don't mean a little.
I mean she JUST turned 6 and wears a 9 in clothing, she's is 50" tall and 60lbs, easily the same size as a 2nd or 3rd grader.
But she's barely 6 and acts like it. . . it bothers her confidence a lot sometimes.
My boys are the same way, though not as extreme as Berkley.
They look more like they're around 4, but they are still such BIG babies. . . baby voices and mispronouncing words.

Same issues here. Lukas looks like such a little boy that people expect so much more from him. When they ask him questions and they get a mumble jumble response or none at all (he's behind in his speech/language skills but has made great progress in the special ed preschool) I get these funny looks like what is wrong with him and I have to explain that he's only 3. Leilani looks her age and still has her baby fat and I get comments on what a smart little girls she is.

DD#1 was 39" at her 3yr check. She was 35" at her 2yr check.

The twins just had their 2yr check and were 35.5" and 36.5" so they are on the tall side as well.
