I'm just curious. I was not shocked at all I was having twins, but was extremely shocked when we found out the genders.

I voted a little shocked to find out it was twins. I found out at the gender u/s at 21 weeks, but had a feeling it was more than one for quite a few weeks before that. My husband though, was "fall off the chair" shocked, despite me dropping hints!

I was VERY SHOCKED to find out we were having twins. I got pregnant on the first time we tried, there are NO twins in the family and I got pregnant with them the first pregnancy! WOW!!!! I was shaking, my heart was beating so fast and the whole thing was just SO surreal to us! It definitely took awhile for it to sink in.

As far as the genders...we found out we were having two girl. I voted "a little shocked"...I guess it wasn't really shock, more of just surprised. We didn't really have any thoughts on what we were having. I figured there was at least one girl, so to find a second was surpriseing!

I just about fell off the table shocked when I found out we were expecting twins! I was only 7 weeks so I hadn't started to show yet, and I'd had no morning sickness or severe pregnancy symptoms, plus there are no twins in my family and DH's brother has twins, so I never thought 2 brothers would both have twins....so I never in a million years thought it was a possibility. I was a little shocked to find out it was 2 girls, I thought I was expecting one of each. DH has been saying identical girls since we found out, so far he's been right, we have yet to see about the identical part.

i voted very shocked when we found out we were having twins. because, even tho i've always wanted twins, i just didn't think it would ever happen because it's not in my family...
i voted shocked at the genders... first my DH was convinced it was 2 boys, and i was CERTAIN at least one of them was a boy... but.. two girls!

I would have put down "fell off the table shocked" but I was on the bed during the U/S when I found out and there was no place for me to fall. However, I do remember thinking, "I bet this lady is looking at ovaries or something and confusing them with babies." And then she showed us, tracing an outline of each sac and where each baby was and I was like, "Oh...
And then I just started this nervous giggling thing that I have a tendency to do.

The sexes were not too shocking, though, I kind of expected a boy/girl combo.

I was fall off the table shocked that I was having twins. My husband was "Holy Sh*t" shocked. We waited until the birth to know what we were having, but I always suspected there was at least one boy in there. We had been married about 5 months when we found out we were going to have twins before we even celebrated our first anniversary.

I did the same thing! When the technician showed me the second baby, I started laughing (from joy and surprise!) and ended up laughing the rest of the way through my U/S and periodically through the rest of the day.

Very shocked.... in tears shocked... (not happy ones, unfortunately!) For some reason I thought that being an id. twin made me "immune" to twins...LOL!! and I really just wanted to do my pgs nice and easy, one at a time, enjoying things.... I just had a difficult time adjusting to the idea... Then I began to pretty much pray that there would be at least one boy in there since I wasn't sure I'd want more kids... and I knew dh would want more if we didn't have a boy... Then for my dd's sake I also really wanted a sister...so I pretty much said, "okay God, you gave me twins that I really didn't want...now they had better be a boy and a girl!!!" Before you all hate me my attitude did change after they were born!! I fell instantly in love with them... and by the time they were sleeping through the night I really loved having twins..LOL!! And if you notice my ticker we are having another...and it's a girl!! yahoo!! And I think I might actually want another after this...and I would love to have another set of twins!! LOL...I do think b/b twins would be cool since it's the only combination left that my family has yet to experience!! (and of course b/b twins would help balance out the hormone overload in my family!! ha ha...my poor ds!!)

to be honest I was extremely shocked I was having twins...the place where I worked when I found out I was pregnant had 3 other employees with twins already. My mom also kept telling me that I was either further along or having more than one, b/c I was plumping up so fast :) SO, it was kinda the running joke...i really thought thats all it was, a joke. But, then my doctor was checking my uterus and asked was I sure I wasn't further along...i had a m/c a few months earlier so I was keeping up with my cycle. She never mentioned twins, she just told me to get dressed b/c I was going to have an u/s. GEEZ...the reality was starting to sink in then...but still, I thought, nah...surely not. There they both were though...I had confirmation. :) But getting everyone to actually believe there were two after we had made such a joke out of it was nearly impossible!

The genders were not a shock for me...I had a feeling that they were girls...and they were :) My hubby was shocked...he thought if he wished for a boy hard enough he would get at least one. :)

Ok, first set IVF, so we knew the possibility was there.

This one? Fall off the table shocked! LOL

First set, thought they were both boys, so somewhat shocked with the girl.

Wish I could vote twice! Very different answers each time!

I was so shocked when I found I was having twins, I threw up while still on the table. Twins don't run in either family, none what so ever. I wasn't really shocked to find out that both were girls I was more shocked to find out that they were ID though.

I voted very shocked when I found out- It took me over 2 years to get pregnant with my son- and a few rounds of clomid that didn't work- then spontaneously got pregnant, lost that one, did it again, and got my son. I had hormone- progesterone- issues with my son, so went to an RE before I started trying- found out I had PCOS and was put on Glumetza for this- after finding out I was pregnant- was at my first u/s at 5 weeks and found out there were two!!! He figured I got pregnant 2 days after I seen him! He told me I did my job and did it well- I didn't know what to say- I was too busy thinking about what I was going to tell DH. When the doc left the room I seriously pinched myself HARD because I thought it was a dream- ok at that time- was kind of thinking nightmare
I voted very shocked with when we found out sexes because I just knew there was a boy- I guess I secretly wanted one of each- so I could have my girl and my son could have a brother- but we are having two girls!!! I guess I thought after having one boy- the likelyhood that I would have another was high!

I was not at all shocked to find out they were twins--I'm a twin from my mom's second set of twins, and my aunt and uncle are twins. I also did IUI+ injectibles in order to ovulate, and had two HUGE follicles the day they triggered me.

I was beyond shocked that they are both boys. Not sure why. the tech showed us the first boy-package and I thought, huh, I thought that one was a girl, it must be the other one. Then she showed us the second boy-package and I thought "Why is she showing me Baby A again????"

I was a little sad too at first, because I was so sure there was a girl in there, but now I am SOOOOO excited!

I know this is going to sound weird, but I wasn't too shocked about the twins. Although I never used any fertility drugs and twins don't run in our family. One of my friends was due around the same time I was due with my second (who I m/c in November 2005). She found out she was having twins (run in her family though). When I heard that, I remember wondering, more than once ... maybe I am supposed to have twins, and that's "why" I m/c (there is no reason for a m/c, don't get me wrong, but I always looked for a "why"). So when my hcg came back high and I had to go in for an u/s I wasn't completely shocked ... it kind of made sense, all of a sudden. Does this sound weird?

I always "knew" one twin was a girl, and I "knew" I wasn't going to have 2 boys, so it was either g/g or b/g, so when it turned out be b/g I wasn't surprised, just happy I guess. I felt and still feel it's the perfect combination for our family, also for my oldest (who's a girl).

I fell off the table shocked. We had an u/s at 6 weeks and only 1! At my normal 22 week u/s we found out identical girls. We were so shocked. When we walked in we kept teasing the doctor that we didn't want to know sexes and don't tell us it is twins. When he told us twins, we thought he was joking and he said "Ma'am, I can't joke about those things, you are having twins!" At that point, I had to know the sex!!

Despite my dh hoping we would have twin boys, I was very shocked, as was he when I showed him the u/s pictures. I had no idea twins ran in my family!
The genders were what my dh was hoping for, I wanted one of each, but I still wasn't shocked.

Totally and completly shocked. I had prayed for twins...so it was an answered prayer. We were both speechless for about 15 minutes and in complete shock. It was at our 20 week ultrsound. Before that I gave up on it being twins when they heard one heartbeat. My heart sank a little becasue I always wanted twins. Then at 20 weeks. BAM my dream come true and daddy's panic begins.

I wasn't very shocked because I just "had a feeling." I had no reason to believe i was pg with twins, but I really had a feeling it was going to happen. I was also a little upset since I have an incompetent cervix and lost my son at 22 weeks.

I also just "had a feeling" that I was going to have two boys. Also, I was pretty sure I got pg right around ovulation, so that gave me greater odds of boys.

I was a little shocked because we did in-vitro and had 3 eggs put in so I knew I had a chance of having a multiple birth. When we found out it was 2 girls we were shocked. Of course we wanted healthy babies no matter what gender but we were hoping for at least one girl since dh has a son from previous marriage. When we found out it was 2 girls we just sat there and cried with pure joy.

We were falling off the table shocked! Neither one of us expected it and I had some bleeding issues, so I just knew she was going to say that I had lost my baby, but then she said they're were 2! Holy cow, talk about an emotional roller coaster!

I just "knew" that they were both girls, even though DH thought that they were both boys. He was very surprised, but extremely happy. He's always wanted "Daddy's little girl" and now he's getting 2!

Same for me. Not shocked when I found out I was having twins, but a little shocked when I found out it was one of each. I had hoped for one of each, but thought maybe there were two boys. It was a happy shocked that after all of the work to get pg, we got exactly what we always wanted: a boy and girl.

I was "fall off the table" shocked when I found out we were having twins. I was only 8 weeks along when we found out. My ob had sent me for an u/s because I had had some bleeding and she warned me not to tell anyone yet since I may miscarry. So when the technician didn't say anything for a few minutes, I had myself ready for the bad news. She then told me it was TWINS! I just couldn't believe. I didn't laugh or cry..I just kept saying "twins?" "twins." "twins?" all day long to myself.

I wasn't surprised at all to find out we were having 2 boys. My head wanted on of each and my heart wanted 2 girls. But I had had a few dreams that we were having 2 boys and so had my mom. So I was pretty sure that's what we were having. So yes, I was a bit disappointed but we're totally excited about these boys now (and of course my dh has always been happy about 2 boys).

Well, when we found out I was having twins I was VERY shocked - so was DH - we had been having a few relationship problems and they got sorted out then and there!!! I had never seen an ultra sound before and I thought that the tech had my skin bunched up or something - causing what looked like a sac with a line through it. (lol) I was 7 weeks.
I had had a m/c a couple of months before so I wanted to know what was taking him so long to tell us.
    'Is everything ok?' I asked.
'Looks like there's two' the tech goes.
I looked at DH and he was smiling like a cheshire cat, then I thought maybe they were playing tricks on me..... kept looking back and forward between them going - 'are you serious?'
I was SOOO shocked. I felt so blessed and lucky. DH and I were on cloud nine for ages.

As for the genders I thought I would have two girls. Turns out i am having one of each, which for DH and I with no other children this is the perfect scenario! I am just a very skeptical person and not very lucky - generally speaking - so I didn't think it would happen. I was surprised and so happy. Dh is a very lucky person by contrast and he chose the genders. The day we found out I kept patting him on the back saying 'Good boy, babe. You've done well'

I wasn't very surprised at all. Twins run in my family and I had a strange feeling I would have them, especially after our 4th IUI and I finally had 2 large follicles...I just had this weird feeling it would work b/c I knew it was meant to be. We were both so excited when the dr said well how do you feel about having twins and there was the 2nd sac on the screen! We aren't finding out the sexes and everyday I think something different.

We had a 4 percent chance of having twins (we were on Clomid) but I really didn't think we would- so I was shocked when we found out for sure there were two babies in there! With regards to the sexes I was not shocked but rather happy.. I really wanted a boy AND a girl!

TOTALLY SHOCKED to find out we were pregnant with twins! I never even thought of it as a possibility, to be honest! DH joked early on that since I was starting to show so early, "wouldn't it be funny if there were two babies in there?" Seriously...I thought I was just making too many trips to Taco Bell! Twins do not run in our family and we were fortunate to get pregnant on our first official try.

I was a little shocked to find out the genders. I was sure we had a boy and a girl in there, but was so happy to find out we were getting two boys!!!!!!!!

I was fall off the table shocked when I found out and about the genders. I convinced Peter not to go to my 1st appt with me cause it was going to be OH so boring I told him! I said they never do u/s its just gonna be a lot of info & tests. So when the ob told me he was doing an u/s I thought, great now he is going to be SO mad lol. I was excited though, cause I had a strong feeling I was going to lose the baby, and I wanted to actually see it to calm my fears. Well he started the u/s and was all Ohhh... I immediatly thought I lost the baby, and my heart fell into my stomach, I said Oh what, whats wrong, and his nurse said Nothings wrong, it's twins! I almost started crying out of shock, fear & excitement! They game me my u/s pic and told me to get dressed, I couldn't wait till I got out to tell Peter, so I texted him with "it's twins" lol. He didn't believe me till I called him and convinced him, he almost fainted at work haha!

THen EVERYONE thought I was having boys, and I mean EVERYONE. I wanted girls SO bad, so I was sure it was boys lol. When we went to get the u/s and he said it's a girl, and its a girl again, I almost started crying I was SO happy!

I was 9 weeks and found out when the U stech said "guess what?" and DH said "I see two!" then he and the tech looked at the screen..which I couldnt see..and didnt say a WORD while I lay there going 'ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod" over and over...I was stunned. And it was worse since no one was talking to me!!! It took me several weeks to adjust to the idea!

We found out 2 weeks ago we are having b/g and I was not surprised at all ..I knew somehow!
