For those of you doing several feedings at night do you change the babies diapers every time?

Although we are no longer doing night feedings, we made it a routine to change the diapers then feed them. That way I could keep track of wet diapers as well.

When our babies were very young, we did change them every time we gave them a bottle. They were eating every three hours around the clock then. When they got a little older (maybe around 2-3 months) and when they were able to go longer stretches at night, we did not change them if they woke up to eat. Our pediatrician suggested not changing them b/c it wakes them up even more. Now they are 6 months old and sleep around 12 hours each night. We also change them before they eat (or unless we smell a "surprise!") to keep track of wet diapers, etc....the nurses did this in the hospital, so we just decided to continue it.

We would change them with every feeding overnight, which ended up being every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. By about 3 months they were only eating once during the night and not pooping every time they ate, so we would only change them if they felt very wet or were poopy. I would slather their little butts with diaper cream (and still do) to prevent any diaper rash from wetness.

When they were newborns we changed them before every night feeding. Around 2 or 3 months we started only changing them if they pooped. Otherwise they woke up way too much and had a hard time going back to sleep.

Every time I feed them I change them. I change them prior to feeding so they wake up more and are more aggressive when it comes to feeding.

When mine woke in the middle of the night for a feeding we would always change them before feeding them. They have slept all night since 6 months and now they are in the same diaper the whole night, now I do use Huggies overnights though.

We always changed them before we fed them because they would get sleepy after the bottle and we could just put them back to bed. We still change them before every bottle, even at night, to help prevent diaper rash and leakage from the diapers getting too full.
