How often do your 2-year olds have a bath?

Just curious what others are doing?

It is winter here which means a dry house with the heating system so I don't want to dry their skin even more. Also, they aren't getting outside a lot like the summer so they aren't working up a sweat or getting dirty. Because of all these reasons, we are bathing them every 2nd night (on the odd occasion, we have even done it on the 3rd night due to schedules/meltdowns/whatever).

We do baths 3x a week. In the summer we might do it more often because they get so much dirtier, but last summer we pretty much just let them be dirty.

Winter we bathe them every other day unless they are particularly messy or dirty. Summertime we bathe them every day because I have 2 very sweaty boys.

I still do baths every night around here. They always manage to get food in their hair and there is usually marker or paint on them too so even though they aren't getting outside as much, they are still getting dirty. Its part of our bedtime routine now and they really enjoy playing in the tub together so it doesn't seem like work for me.

With all my other kids I did baths about every 3 days. We have skin issues, and the warm baths always made it worse. But, with these 2, they take baths sometimes 2x/day to help entertain and keep them out of trouble  I don't think there is a right or wrong (unless, of course, you allow them to be stinky and filthy, which I'm quite sure you don't).

Same here for the same reasons.

Excema here---- so we tend to do every 2-3 days in winter and every to everyother in summer (get dirtier!) since it dries out the skin sooo much.

Allergist suggested once a week with face/diaoper area daily--I just couldn't do that! EWWW

We do baths every night before bed. In winter, they don't strictly "need" it (except for the food and boogers in the hair), but it is SO relaxing for them. They really love it.

My older one takes a shower every night Sunday through Thursday to be clean for school the next day. On Friday nights if he looks or smells dirty from school I have him take on. I usually allow him Saturday night off from taking a shower/bath unless he is absolutely disgusting.

The twins are about every other day for baths, sometimes there is an extra day in there they get to skip a bath. In the summer we frequently bathe more often due to being outside almost all the time.

We do it everynight but, as pps mentioned, it is more because Jack and Lily love it and it is part of our nightitme routine.

We're every 2-3 days in the winter here. Usually everyday in the summer.

We do baths here every night too but thats because 1. my children get messy even if they are not doing something dirty 2. its has always been part of their routine from when they were little and they actually ask for a bath every night x

we do every other in the winter and every day in the summer - although if it was up to DD she'd be in the tub every night for her "baf"

Baths have been part of their bedtime routine since they were infants. We bath them everyday, no matter how dirty or clean they are. We use lotion in the wintertime for dry skin and have never had a problem.

Not quite 2 yet, but we do every other day here. They don't like to be in the bath tub together -- they want some space! -- so they alternate bath nights. Makes it easier for us to only deal with one bath at bedtime, too, since they both have mild eczema, and need a thorough lotioning post-bath.

In the summer, we'll probably do every night, as they'll get dirtier from being outside more.

Every other day in the winter, more often in summer when they are out and getting more dirty.

My resonse is the exact same as angie7's above...they have baths every night. I can count on two fingers the nights they haven't had a bath since they were born. It's a lot of work but I just can't put them to bed without knowing they have been bathed, just a personal thing for me...and it helps relax them too. :)

when the boys were younger (12 to 18 mos) we bathed them every night
    as part of the routine
but they both developed dry skin, so now we do every other night
same for dd, and it's also helped her hair to not be so dry and frizzy

side note: for those with dry skin issues
our ped suggested bathing them with dove moisturizing body wash (no scent) and lathering them up with eucerin afterwards... ever since we started this we have not had ANY issues with the dryness or red bumpy irritation that we battled off and on for months... the eucerin is a little pricy, but we live by it now...so worth it!

This is exactly what we do. Every other night sometimes every third. We just clean their feet, hands and faces with wet wipes on the off days. They are just in the house all the time right now and not getting dirty so what's the point? Of course they get cleaned well everytime we change their diaper so we're not worried about that either. In the summer though it's definitely every other day but more every night because we are either at the beach or park and they get filthy. I will usually put them right in the bath when we get back if we have no plans to go out any more when we return.

Like many of you we do every other night in the winter and every night in the summer. I did every night for a long time because it was part of the bedtime routine, but they are old enough now that it doesn't matter to them if they don't have a bath.

:good: Same here. If it were up to them they'd be taking a bath 16 times a day... they love to "swim" We stopped doing everynight last winter, before that we thought we'd mess up their routine but they've done just fine.

Now that they are showering, it's every other night. They love playing in there and they are just getting dirtier the older that they get!

At that age we did it pretty much every other night, but some nights back-to-back if they have played hard outside or at the craft table! lol

I try to give baths everyday too! My kids are messy eaters and it's part of our routine...and we need a routine or I will go crazy!

Every Friday as routine, otherwise as requested or needed. It probably works out to about every 3 days, give or take. Definitely more often in the summer.

We bathe them every day or sometimes we skip a day. Mine just get so messy with food and stuff under their nails and poopy diapers I just feel like they are dirty and stinky by the end of the day :p Plus it is just kind of part of the routine

Every night in the summer but this time of year for the same reasons as you we do around 3 times a week perhaps more if they ask for it.
