how often do you use a single stroller?

Hi ladies- my guys are 7 months, and I need a single stroller for a trip that I'm taking w/ one DS. I'm trying to debate between a "nicer" (well, nicer as in $50 vs $20) umbrella stroller or a super cheapy umbrella stroller for the trip. If I think I'll use the thing more than once, then I think the nicer one would be best. I figured y'all would be the experts in knowing how often I'd actually use a single stroller! Thanks for your thoughts!

 

I never did. We bought some to use on vacation, and that was the only time we ever used them--fortunately, I went with the cheap umbrella one.

I think I might have answered this question already on OS... But FWIW, I say cheap stroller. That's all we have. I used it from about 8-15 months for the daycare dropoff/pickup, because I could not carry both of them, but they were not walking reliably. Since then, I've barely used it.

I have often been tempted to get a nicer single stroller, especially when I'm home with one sick child for a few days in a row -- it does seem silly to go walking with the MB double and have half of it be empty. But I finally decided it would be sillier to spend the money on one that I would use a few times a month, if that.

BTW, I'm glad to hear someone else is doing the "take a trip with one twin" thing -- it was such a nice experience to be able to focus on just one child!

 

We have two of the cheapo TRU umbrella strollers. Since I got my Jeep SBS we haven't used the single ones once. Before that I used them for errands and used the Prince Lionhart thingys to attach them together.

 

I've never used one. If I only take one kid, I still use the double and just throw all our stuff in the other seat.

Never. I kept mine from my first son. I never used it so I let my SIL borrow it.

we had a cheaper one, we hardly used, but all the kids (mine and the neighbor boys) loved pushing it around with their trucks or stuffed animals in it.

 

Nope.... get a cheapie. I only had one because it was free at TRU when I spent over $75 last year. I used it maybe twice and that was because I left it in my car and needed it to put one of the boys in when I had to park around the corner from my house and they were not walking then. My duoglider was in the house at the time but is usually always in my van.

 

I haven't, but there are a few occasions I wish I had two single umbrellas. We're actually contemplating get two of the cheapies at BRU for the rare occasion we want to take them separate ways.

We use our single strollers all the time. When we go to the mall, park, a walk around the block, they are in their single stroller. We opted for a Maclaren, which is a super nice (and expensive)
