How often do you take the kids out to kiddie places?

We only go out about once a week, plus weekends. In the fall I plan to take them out twice a week....to story hour and music class. It's just too hard right now and all they do is whine!

 

I am so NOT a home body!!! We are somewhere practically everyday for at least a couple hours! It's been that way since the boys were about 15mons on. I would seriously go "bonkers" if we were home everyday ...all day. Summers...no problem. But in the winter, its a must for my SAHM sanity.

Playgroup 1-2/week. Swim class on Wednesdays, do a Mom's club activity or story time. Lunch or swimming at a friends. Museums, craft time, meet at a park, the mall, grocery store, errands, etc. Go to grandma's or my sister's for the day. We have a yearly membership at a local amusement park and the zoo. Summer weekends at the family lake house, hit the Friday night outdoor concerts, or hang with friends and their kids.

 

I am also not a homebody. I feel stir crazy if I don't get out of the house!

I always do something in the morning: Zoo, Playgroup, Story Time, Playground, beach, local pool club, swim lessons, tennis lessons (or oldest son & sibs tag along), if all else fails we'll take a long walk.

We play it more chill in the afternoon, like playing in the backyard or a walk around the neighborhood. I've never been good at hanging around at home, even before I had kids!

 

During the summer, we go out every day, either to the beach, the park, or a playgroup. We do a lot of little classes in the community too (not just weekly classes, but special one-time-only nature walks or concerts in the park, things like that). During the school year, I work part time but DH and I still try and make sure we do something kid friendly each day. We are lucky to have a few good parks nearby.

My kids whine if we stay inside. So I try and get them out as much as possible so I don't have to listen to it!!!

 

We try to get out about 3x during the week (weekends, who knows), once to a playgroup and then usually twice for Mommy errands. I go nuts somedays when we don't get out, but then gas is just so expensive I have to restrain myself, and it's too hot out for walks to the park. Can't afford chucky cheese, mcdonalds, or such, so it's usually to friend's houses or the mall play area.

 

Pretty much every day I'm with them, which is 4 days a week (I work three days a week) but then they are playing with either daycare or grandma and grandpa so they get out almost every day. There's nothing worse than cabin fever for this house, which they get very easily.

 

In the summertime- I like to be on the go. I am bound up all winter (at least for the last 2 years) due to their prematurity/risk of catching germs. So, this week- we have something planned 5 of the 7 days. We don't go away for all- have company here but it keeps us busy.
