How often do you replace their paci?

I was just wondering how often you replace your babies' pacifiers? I boil them with the nipples about 1-2x a day, so I'm sure ours are gettting broken down faster. I don't see any signs of wearing or tearing, but I'm always afraid the little nipple will pop off in their mouths or something (although they seem pretty sturdy). I just wondered if any of you have a rough estimate on how long you keep a paci around before replacing it?

    TIA!!

Probably every 3 or 4 months, and usually because we have lost a few!! [IMG]I haven't had a problem with the silicone type looking or feeling worn, but I have with the latex.

I've never in the 2.3 years I have had them had the nipples pop off in their mouths... I always just check them and make sure they aren't 'collapsing' or look weak or wore out.

I don't need to replace ours technically...my twins love to throw their green soothies out of their car seats while we are out and about so I end up buying a ton of them lol...no worries about them getting old I guess.

You seriously boil yours 1-2 times a DAY????????? Wow...you are def. way more dedicated to that cause than me lol...I boil them when I first get them...after that its a crap shoot..as long as they don't have hair on them and get occasionally washed off they are good to go in this house lmao...

I think I had about 15 green vanilla soothies way back when. We have about 10 now, so not too bad on losing them! Mine get rinsed off if there is "debris" on them, but other than that, they are scattered around the house. My DS is getting a healthy dose of germs from them [IMG]

Silicone work the best, and last the longest. We replaced them when my DS would lose them. Otherwise we keep them clean by continually putting them in the dishwasher.

I do like the new silicone ones a lot better than the latex for wear & tear.

I think I've only ever thrown away 1, when I found it had a cut in it. They just get lost before they wear out, honestly. I am constantly buying new ones! But we are out a lot & other people's houses, and I just can't keep track of them. I recently put an empty jar on the counter that's the "puggy jar" where anytime I find one lying around I put it thru the dishwasher & it goes in the jar. That way I know they're clean & there's always at least 1 in there for emergencies. I also periodically check them just by popping them in my mouth to feel for tears, etc. Maybe it's weird, but I can feel a lot better that way than just looking.
