When ours were that young we did hands/faces and bottoms all the time!
We didnt give them a real bath until their umbilical cord stumps fell off. After that we bathed them about 2x per week. Their skin is delicate so you dont need to wash them much and just plain water is even ok.

sponge bath only until stumps fall off. i bathe my girls every night but they are reflux babies and always stink by the end of the day. i wash them with aveeno baby...i found that johnsons was too harsh for their skin.

We sponged them off until the cords fell off, and then after that we went to twice a week bathing.

I wash them when they smell! Honestly, it's too much work to do it every other day.

Ditto! They don't really get that dirty until they get more mobile and start with solids (then you have to bathe them more just to get the spinach out of their hair and the carrots out of their ears LOL). We just did sponge baths on one of those big bear sponges at that age and then switched to a baby tub in the sink once the stump fell off.

ditto on twice a week until they started spitting more and being more mobile. then we went to every other day on alternating days. so it's bathtime every day for me, but every other day for them.

a lot of people will disagree and are fine with johnson & johnson baby wash but you asked so i'll answer with my personal opinion. many of the johnson & johnson products use small quantities of formaldehyde as a cheap preservative. personally i don't see the point in using a product with dangerous cheap preservatives when safe alternatives are available. burt's bees is a good start but we've started using california baby because it has the most inert ingredients.

I'm a huge fan of natural products and feel the same about the ingredients in Johnson's. I use Burt's Bees and also California Baby!
After cords fell off I would do a tub bath every night with my two. They get soooo stinky from spit up! I can't stand that formula smell!
Plus I use the bath time as a soothing night time ritual along with a light massage. It sets a nice tune for night time!

We found Johnsons & Johnsons much too harsh for our daughters' skin. We now use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser as recommended by our pedi. We'd hear great things about California Baby but unfortunately it's not in our budget right now.

We bathe ours every night.. at 1st it was the trick for ours STTN, but then now they are spitting up a ton and stink at the end of the day! Plus it calms them down and makes for a nice bed time routine.

Before three months, maybe every 3 days. Starting at 4 months every night, part of their routine.

I was going to suggest using something organic or natural as well.

Twice a week right now, will probably get more often now that they are big enough to put in the big tub with my older kids, and it's getting hotter outside and a nice bath just feels good before bed.

I personally love johnson and johnson products, that and huggies I have used both and never had any problems with them at all! Just depends on which smell I prefer at the time! :D

I agree. I've learned that many of these products are banned in the EU. Why would I use a product deemed unsafe in many other countries? I love the more natural products: Avalon Organics, California Baby, Method, Alba, Jason, etc.

Our boys were lucky to get washed once or twice a week for the first few months. We washed them if they smelled bad or if we had time. Once they started solids, though, and we needed a better night routine, we started bathing them every night.

Yep those bear sponges are great...until they poop on them
now at 6 months I bathe them about 2 to 3 times a week, I used to do it every night, helped them sleep.

We bathe them everynight, with just water, occasionally, we do their hair with aveeno baby wash. It relaxes them and is a great routine for us as we bathe them in the baby bath while their big brothers are in the big tub. They sleep really well too.

We have always used California Baby and been happy with it. We also started baths after the umbilical cord Fell off, and did baths twice a week. Even now, we do 2-3 baths a week, depending on what is needed.
