for a 4 piece crib bedding set? I found one that I LOVE (Carter's Tree Tops) but I can only find it online in one store and because of where I live I cannot go to different stores to price match. It is $169 which seems pretty outrageous to me, but this is my last baby, first boy and I've never been able to pick out a bedding set before. Hmmm....decisions.

sound like a good price to me. I think it's about average. I paid 199 for mine on ebay and it was used.

That is actually average for bedding prices that Ive seen. My bedding sets were that same price. If anything, Ive seen them range from $169 to like $300ish. So like to pp said, sound good to me.

I found the "perfect" bedding set I wanted to get for my boys... I still want to get it, but it's a 6 piece set (sheet, bumper, dust ruffle, quilt, diaper stack, and window valance) It's $169 as well, and I'd have to order it online as well.. I know we won't use the diaper stack or the window valance so I'd rather not have those two anyway... I'm not spending that much.. I think it's too much too pay.. And money isn't an issue for us, I just think logically... with my first son I got his bedding on clearance and paid $99, we never used the quilt in the crib with him, it hung on the wall and by 16 months he was in a toddler bed (where I could have used the crib bedding but switched to something plain and basic knowing he would be moving to a twin bed when the babies are born)..

this time around we are using the same bedding from our son for one of the boys and I've registered for a 4 piece bedding set at BRU that is $89.. It's adorable zoo animals..

so really it's all in your preference.. I'd rather spend more money somewhere else, I mean when the babies grow up they aren't going to know if they had $169-$300 bedding verses something just as cute for under $100....

That sounds about average. I think we paid about 150.00 for our bedding. I would definitely check out what BRU has on clearance because sometimes you can get some really cute bedding sets for a decent price there. Good luck!

I think that is average too.

My DH picked the bedding set for our older son (about $200), but I was never in love with it. For the twins (Boy/girl) I picked it all myself from BRU and just bought the individual pieces that I wanted and it came out to be cheaper. AND I LOVE IT!

I say go with what you want.... You are putting so much work into carrying these babies, you deserve to get the bedding you love!

Sounds like a decent price and it's what I've seen around here. :good: If you like it alot, go for it (as long as you can ;) )

Awwwww, its really just a matter of how much you're willing to pay. If you really like it and want it, then its only too much if you can't afford it. If you can afford it and you want it, go for it, Mama!! :good:

I have to say that I find crib bedding sets confusing though because nobody ever uses the duvet things, do they? Aren't babies not meant to sleep under that kind of stuff? They are pretty darn cute though!!

I'd say as much as you want (and can) as long as you get the one you want.

I myself...I went crazy with stuff for my kids

We can afford it, but the practical side of me says no because he won't be using the quilt anyways and the bumper won't be in for very long either. I know the price is about average, but it costs more than my crib, which was tied for 2nd compared to other pricier cribs by consumer reports. LOL
I think I'll wait and see if it goes on sell or if I can find something lower priced that I like as much.

I'm with your practical side Chelsea, that's way too much for something that will be used such a short time. Heck that's two weeks of my nanny's salary! There is no way I'd spend that much on crib sheets--I'd never even spend that much on sheets for me.

That sounds reasonable to me. You might want to consider doing this: I picked out an expensive pattern from Restoration Hardware, but I'm only getting the bumpers and cribskirts, so this makes it more believable in price. I bought the sheets elsewhere (cheaper and interchangable between the boy/girl sets - and who knows maybe even better quality) and I am not buying the blanket because we never used ours from our previous set except to hang over the back of a chair decoratively.

I would like to purchase just the bumper and crib skirt, but unfortunately I cannot find where to purchase them separately it seems it only comes as a 4 piece set. I'll probably just end up purchasing a solid colored crib skirt, sheets and maybe the breathable bumpers.

You should look also on etsy or ebay for someone who will make a custom set--they usually can't get the exact fabric, but it will be similar, and then you can only get the pieces you'll use. And most of them are SAHM, so you'll be supporting another mom! I like the custom choices because you can get ones that aren't cutesy.

If you like it, get it. We still use the bumpers at almost 10 months because I have little roley poley acrobats who would have broken an arm through the slats by now. As for the quilt, I use ours spread on the floor for the girls to play on. You're going to have to get extra crib sheets anyhow. We have 6 total (3 for each bed) and that's been just right.

Baby stuff can def be on the pricey side! I know that all the furniture (2 cribs, changing table, 2 dressers, 2 chairs and an ottoman, 2 cradles for our room, pack and play, highchairs, etc, etc, etc) was almost 4k!!! Thankfully, my wife's mother gave us most of it as a wedding present :woman: , and my wife and I are planning on getting some major usage out of these (one or two more kids, and then toddler beds, and full sized beds!!!) This stuff is going to be used and abused! My 3yo was still using the bumper up until we converted hers into a toddler bed, because she kicks in her sleep. She only has one set with a quilt blanket, and now, she uses it all the time! Kids and their blankets, like mac and cheese!
