I gained way more with my twins than I did with any of my singletons - but after the twins were born I lost my baby weight REALLY quick - I breastfed and I think it was a combo of that and just not having much time for snacking that did it! I would not worry about weight - just eat good and take care of yourself! growing 2 babies is hard work and I think it is great that you are hungry!! it sure beats sick all the time!!

I've gained 42 lbs. I know what you mean about being hungry all the time. My whole second tri, I could eat anything in sight! My appetite is now starting to slow down, but I still eat more than I did pre pregnancy.

I have gained 54lbs! The majority of it has been in the last trimester!I havd gained 10 lbs in the last two weeks and then I gained 10 lbs in the prior two weeks. Now I have high bp so I think that is playing a factor in the weight gain. I was doing good until now! I cant imagine going to term with this weight gain!

I'm 30 weeks. So far I've gained 25 pounds. I gained 60lbs with my dd. That was a really hard pregnancy for me cause of the increase weight gain. So once I found out I was pregnant with twins, I told myself to take it easy. So far so good.. All belly. But don't worry mama! Eat if u have to. The babies need lots of nourishment! It will be all worth it at the end!! Good luck!!

At my 19.5 week visit, I had gained a total of 13 lbs. I'm an average height 5'5" & have a small frame. My Dr. wasn't concerned at all & my belly is all out front. :)

I'm following Dr. Luke's recommendations, so my goal was 40-55 lbs. At this point I'm 35w2d and have gained 49 lbs, so looks like I'm on track to come in just under 55 lbs. (This past week I only gained 0.4 lbs; it does slow down at the end!)

I need to start listening to Dr. Luke! I was feeling bad about my weight gain. My Dr. isn't concerned though, even though I have gained extra in my arms and legs.

I'm up 40 pounds at 30 weeks. I probably would have gained a little less if I wasn't home all day eating out of boredom.

I am 26 weeks and have gained almost 35 pounds. I gained nothing my first trimester b/c I felt yucky and couldn't really eat. I am super glad to have gained what I have and am making every effort to gain more. I read a book by a Dr. who runs a multiples clinic who says gaining weight, and staying hydrated are the best things you can do to prevent preterm labor and have babies with healthy birth weights since they will more than likely be at least a little early. The book is called, "When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads - Proven Guidelines for a Healthy Multiple Pregnancy" By Dr. Barbara Luke and Tamara Eberlein. The Dr.'s weight gain recommendations are:

20 weeks - 25lbs.
28 weeks - 38lbs.
Total weight gain - 40-56lbs.

So go ahead, eat up!

I have gained 30lbs @ 32wks, but I think the scale might be a quite a bit higher my next appt....I am starving all the time now!!!! And I think the babies have dropped b/c it seems like I can eat a lot more than I did a week ago.

I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow and have gained 52 pounds. I gained most of that in the second trimester. I feel like most of it really is belly...

20. I am 23 weeks and have gained 29 lbs. At 9 weeks I had gained 10 lbs. I didn't have any nausea, which I know is a blessing. But I really wanted to stay in the healthy weight gain range. After reading these posts, I feel like I am heading toward 80 lbs or something. I'm a little worried. I didn't want to gain more that 50 lbs. But the health of my babies is most important. So I'll deal with the weight loss later I guess.

I'm 17 weeks and at my last appointment I had actually lost a pound and a half. So I have only gained 5 and a half pounds since I got preggers.

I dont really know what weight I started at. I think it was around 153lbs and now I am at 162lbs @ 14 wks. With my 1st set I started at 130-135ish and ended right at 200lbs... so a 70 lb weight gain. I am expecting about that much this time also... and I started 20lbs heavier... ugh!

ETA: with my singleton I gained around 50lbs... I am just big pregnant gal and the pregnancy weight always drops. My doc was never concerned about my 70lb gain.

I am 23 weeks and 2 days and have gained 17 lbs total. However I had my biggest gain in the last 4 weeks, 9 lbs! The doctor was concerned, but more in the that is your biggest gain, let's watch and see what happens. Be careful about what you eat...nothing serious yet I guess. He said since I've only put on 17lbs total and am more than half way done, that was good.

I´m 35 weeks 5 days and I´ve gained 27 lbs. I am small framed (110 lbs pre-pregnancy and 5´4), but my Dr. is very happy because I´ve always had trouble gaining weight . With my singletons I gained between 16 and 22 lbs.

I'm 23 weeks and have gained about 15-16 pounds. People say that's great but I am a bit worried that they are not getting enough nutrition. Going for ultrasound on 30th so if they are okay, I guess it's all right. Anybody else had problems with weight gain?

27. At 12 weeks I had gained 13 lbs. At 20 weeks I had gained about 23 lbs. I am 24 weeks now and I am up 29 lbs (yikes!). I was hoping I was on par for the 45-50lb range, but from what I've been reading, I might be heading toward the 60 - 70 lbs range. That worries me.

I'm almost 14 weeks and have gained 10lbs thus far. :( I don't know if this is bad but I feel terrible. I feel more fat than preggy but I"m trying to put it all into perspective that if I'm eating good food, this is not such a bad thing.

I have gained 9 lbs and am 12 weeks. I have a Dr. appt next week and am scared she is going to scold me! I worry that this is too much weight gain so far. I am totally fine gaining a bunch of weight if it helps the baby's birth weights, but at the same time I am scared that I will end up needing to lose 30 lbs after the babies are born.

I was really worried about gaining a lot at first as well. I gained 10lbs within the first 12 weeks but then it slowed down and has been steady.
I am no petite girl so 20lbs so far is actually pretty good for me. My doc hasn't said a word about my weight except at the first appointment. She siad she wanted me to gain 30-40lbs. Hopefully I will come in at the 30-35lbs mark.

At 29 wks I am up 20 lbs, but I am overweight so I'm not concerned about it being too much or too little. I'm hoping for the 30-35 range, altho my ob predicted 40-50 lb range.

I started out at 135lbs and I'm 5'6''. I am being induced on Tuesday at 38 weeks and I will have gained about 60lbs total. I'm totally OK with that b/c I ate right and didn't deprive myself out of vanity b/c I knew the babies needed it- I just ate when I was hungry-even if that was all the time!! My doctor and midwife have never mentioned a word about my weight and told me just to focus on growing those babies and it would all work out in the end. That's what I did and the end is in sight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am 27 weeks and I have gained 20 pounds. I am exactly the same weight now as when I delivered my dd and I weighted almost exactly the same before both pregnancies so I guess the saying that you look like you are full term with twins around 6-7 months is true in my case : ) I was overweight to begin with though. Not obese, but about 20 pounds overweight.

I have gained 29 lbs at 29 1/2 weeks. I only gained a few pounds first trimester and have steadily gained through second trimester. In the last week or so I have found that I just do not feel as hungry as I did in the second trimester and sometimes am almost more tired than interested in eating. I am still working my normal schedule but I am thinking I will have to cut back in a couple of weeks and with more rest may end up with more appetite. Most of my weight gain is all in my belly so far though, and the babies are both over 3 lbs at this point so they are obviously getting their fair share of whatever I am eating.
