How much weight did you lose immediately after you had your twins?

For those of you who have had your twins already, how much weight did you lose immediately after having them. As I get up there in weeks and pounds (56pounds already!) I'm curious as to how much I will be left with to lose on my own. I gained 60 pounds with my DS and lost about 20 immediately, but I was retaining a lot of water, which I'm not yet with the twins so I don't think I can compare them.

I lost 26lbs before I even left the hospital, now I am still working on the last 10lbs maybe b/c it is my 2nd pregnancy in less than 2yrs but I'm just not bouncing back like I should.

I gained 50 lbs with my pregnancy. I'm not sure exactly how much I lost immediately as I didn't step on the scale until two weeks later. At that time I had lost 40 lbs of the 50, and by 6 weeks post partum, I lost the other ten. :good:

I think I have you beat, lol.

I've only lost half of the 50 lbs. I gained, as of 3 weeks postpartum :(

To answer the original question, I literally only lost the weight of the twins the first couple of days (all that extra weight was due to swelling, though, I'm sure). There was that, then over the next two weeks, I lost another 10 lb. or so. I seem to have hit a plateau last week. It doesn't help that my eating/sleeping patterns are completely out of whack, I'm no longer breastfeeding, and I won't be exercising (other than walking) until I reach 6 weeks postpartum since I had a c-section.

I lost about 20lbs within 1 hour, about 43lbs down a week later and I was 7 below at 6 weeks post partum. I gained 43lbs in total.

    I weighed 166lbs the week I gave birth..they weighed me 2 days post c-section and I was 137lbs! So 29lbs! I weighed 119lbs pre pregnancy so I gained a total of 47lbs.

I lost 30lbs by the time I left the hospital. I had gained 60lbs. I was down to my prepregnancy weight by about the time they were 3 months old.

I gained 40lbs. from my pre-pregnancy weight (45 lbs. from my lowest weight), and had lost 25 by the time I got home from the hospital. By the end of 2 weeks I had lost about 38lbs and that's where I am right now.

I gained about 30 lbs. 10lbs were gone right after they were born and the remaining 20lbs were gone in about a month. 6 months later I was about 10lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight...although I've sinced gained those 10lbs back. Guess I should have kept pumping...

I think a lot of the weight loss factor has to do with age, pre-preggo weight, and your genetic ability to lose weight quickly or not. I started off 5'4'' 100lbs age 21 with my singletons:
1st- gained 60lbs, lost all by 6 weeks
2nd- gained 75lbs, lost all by 8 weeks
3rd- gained 30 lbs, lost all by 12 weeks
4th (twins) - gained 45lbs, lost 24 immediately, didn't lose any more as of 5 months, but, found out I'm preggo again. That may be why

    Good luck!

I gained 42 pounds, lost basically none of it right away. I never swelled my entire pregnancy but I swelled way up after my c-section. About two weeks post-partum, I had lost 20 pounds. I gained 10 back while BF'ing, then got down to within 2 pounds of my pre-preg weight last summer. Gained some back and I am now (today) back to 2 pounds away from my pre-preg weight.

I was on bedrest for 15 weeks, I think that did mess with my metabolism a bit. But I am on track now!

I gained 55lbs with the boys. I had some good swelling before delivery and major swelling after so I left the hospital only 8 lbs down (and my babies were each close to 6 lbs each...go figure). I was down probably another 15 within the first 2 weeks. I probably lost another 15 lbs of that by 3 months post partum. I lost all but about 5 lbs by 6 months and lost the rest by about 8 months. However, I couldn't wear my prepreg jeans until close to the boys' first birthday and then well...I got pregnant again.

At close to 29 weeks I had gained 42lbs. I gave birth to a whopping 4lb 13oz of babies. I had lost 25lbs 3 days later. Within 2 weeks I lost about another 15lbs.

30 pounds! I now say that having twins is a great weight loss plan.. Totally Kidding Though! :D

I should add that our boys were 5.10 and 5.15 pounds.

I gained about 65 lbs and weighed 35lbs less after the boys arrived... i will say though that I have lost all of the weight now and my body has been twinified!!! I am not sure it will ever look the same again! As far as actually losing the weight I would recommend breastfeeding! The weight just seems to melt off! Also, our babies were 6 lbs 13 ozs & 7 lbs 10 ozs
