I'm beginning to think I'm going crazy. They eat so much!!! Is this normal? The two of them ate a MAN sized bowl of rice cereal tonight and I had to go make more!

I feed them two meals a day of solid food, breakfast and supper. I have only once fed them until they quit opening their mouths, they just keep eating and eating and eating!

The doctor is not concerned about their weights. (They are in 12 - 18 month clothing)

    Does this sound normal??

My boys do the same thing. They eat 2 jars of Stage 2 baby food twice a day and 2 tablespoons of rice cereal for breakfast. I didn't intend to feed them this much, but they just want to keep eating.

By the way, that amount of food is between the two of them, not each.

I've worried about the same thing too. I'm still breastfeeding, but we're also doing 3 meals a day. I don't know if I'm over-doing it on the solids, but they always eat whatever I offer. I'm not sure what they weigh now, but they're little chunkers. I give them mostly veggies (whatever new one we've started), and then some cereal mixed with EBM. I wish there was a manual for the BEST way to do things sometimes.

I wouldn't worry about it a bit! Sounds like you have some good eaters! Yay!

At that age mine were eating 3 solids a day. Fruits in the morning, veggies at lunch, and meats w/ veggies at dinner. They ate a whole jar a piece at each feeding.

My DS was 15.4 at his 4month checkup and DD was 14.4 and we started solids. They can eat 4 tablespoons of cereal in the morning and sometimes they want more sometimes each and sometimes they share. I just kinda gauge their hunger and if they want more I give more and if not than we throw out what we haven't used.

I wish mine would eat more but they don't. I wouldn't worry either. Seems like we are always worried if they eat too much or too little?
