My DH has restructured his work hours and we will be able to pull the kids out of daycare. Its a home based, and she has been wonderful in the 2.5 years we have been there.

I know DH will need time to adjust to his "new" hours and we are thinking at least a month before he pulls them out. But I wonder if that will be enough time to "warn" our sitter of the pullout? This is how she makes a living and pays her bills so should I give her more advance notice? I hate to tell her now and then she advertises for the spots and then things not work out the way we anticipate and have lost our spot, but if we wait too long, we leave her in a bad spot having lost 3 of her kids at once.

    Advice?

When do you think you'll know for sure? I woul give her as much notice as possible but I would also want to make sure before I lost my 3 spots ;)

I would say a month is a great notice. It will give her time to find a child to replace them. If you are not sure the exact day, at least giving her a heads up now will get her ready.

I'd say a month is more than enough time

I'm a daycare provider and a month is plenty of time. I tell my parents to give me two weeks notice if they are going to leave, so I would be grateful to have a months notice.

One month is a perfect amount of time. I would be very happy if I were a day care provider with a month to look for new charges. :)

I think a month is a very considerate and probably even more than absolutely necessary. I would feel comfortable giving a month's notice.

A month is a lot of notice. I personally would give 2 weeks so you don't get in a situation where you lose your spots if she finds new people.
