How much juice for constipation?

We are using rice cereal in the bottle for spitting up issues with DD and I have completely forgotten what the nurse suggested for juice if we have constipation problems. We are only giving 2 teaspoons of rice per 5 oz. of formula. Does anyone have suggestions about how much apple juice/water concentration to give her?

We were told 1 tbsp of prune juice to 1 tbsp water. I just add the prune juice to their formula---no extra water. It really worked for us.

I don't have that problem (yet?!) with my girls, but with my son we used a 1/2 capful to a full capful of prune juice. Any more than that and it would be coming out of the diaper!

 

We used Pear Juice- 1/2 juice, 1/2 water. The boys loved it!

 

Our Gi doc said to give 1 oz of prune juice per day. It certainly works like a charm!!!!

 

I was told 1 ounce prune juice to 1 ounce water. I've just been putting it into Sarah's formula. Also their pedi told me to use oatmeal cereal because rice cereal causes constipation. hth

 

We had a constipation problem when we switched to soy formula. We gave 1/2 oz prune juice diluted with 2 oz water. We only had to give it to them once, it worked great.
The ped didn't tell us how much water, just how much juice so I eyeballed it. I just added water until it didn't look so strong. If we ever have to do it again I'll probably add it to the formula like another poster said.
