    Hi,
My pedi gave me a feeding schedule but after reading everyone's post I am wondering what other doctors tell people. Right now we do cereal mixed with formula in the morning. Then a 5 oz bottle 3 hrs later. Then they each get 1/2 fruit and 1/2 veggie and about 3 oz. formula. Then a 5 oz bottle 3 hrs later and then 1/2 fruit and 1/2 veggie at dinner time and about a 3 oz bottle. They then get bottles throughout the night (how much varies on when they wake hungry)

My question is: Is everyone feeding 3 meals per day and fruits and veggies at each meal?

We're up to 2 meals a day. Our pedi wants us doing (at least) 2 veggies, 2 fruits and 3 cereals a day by the time they're 7 months.

I think that depends on how old your twins are. We didn't add a third meal until 11 months because there just was no time for lunch. Since 6.5 months they have gotten 4 bottles a day (none after they are asleep) and 2 meals a day. Breakfast is oatmeal/fruit, now I do add pancakes or toast along with the oatmeal. Dinner was a meat/veggie (starting at 7 months, now it is a 3rd stage food and some table food of what we are having. Now they get 3 bottles a day and 3 meals a day between 7:30am-7:30pm.

    Hi Brandy,

My twins are 7.5 months and we do 5-5oz bottles a day, and 3 solid feedings. The solid feedings are about 30 minutes after their bottles. And I never really measure how much they eat as far as solids, persay, sometimes it's a little, and sometimes a lot! How old are your babies? [IMG]

    Sorry,
I did not give enough info. They are 5 months old. It seems like I am feeding them too much. My pedi did give me a chart that I am following but it seems so much more and much earlier than all of you are doing [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Your pedi. wants you to give your 5 month old 3 meals a day plus bottles? That does seem like an awful lot. A lot of people don't even start rice cereal until 6 months. At 5 months we just began ceral so it wasn't even a meal at that point just practice. I probably didn't even make it breakfast until they were 6 months and were taking it much better. I added a second meal at 7 months and the 3rd meal not until 11 months. Does it seem to be working for your twins? I guess if it does you can continue, I just would feel like all our time was spent feeding. I think if it's not working for you I would take them down to 2 meals or maybe even just 1 meal a day, they still are so young.

we started rice cereal at 4 1/2 months....then we added fruit (so we were up to 2 solids) and by 5 1/2 months we were at 3 meals plus BF.
Now it's oatmeal/BF in the morning
    level 1 fruit for lunch
    level 1 veggie for dinner.
4 BF a day (none at night)
