How much food and what types of food were you feeding you kids at 7-8 months? Right now I am feeding them twice a day. Once at 10am with a bowl of oatmeal and aprox 2oz of fruit each (I make my own....so two cubes of fruit each). The second time I feed them is at 5pm and they split a jap of gerbers dinners and each have two cubes of veggies. They also eat some puffs throughout the day. How much should I be feeding them? They don't really ever act hungry after I have fed them and I still nurse them every three hours. Thank you for your help. Joy

MIne are eating 2-3 times a day, usually fruit and cereal in the morning, I was using the scoop from the formula about two scoops each of cereal, and one square jar of fruit from gerbers, then veggie and fruit for lunch and same for dinner. we also have been eating some cheerios and I tried a really ripe banana the other day cut into quarters and they did ok. But I don't know if I am doing it right either. Plus they are still getting 4-5 bottles per day.

    Hope this helps a little.

At that age we were on 5 bottles and 3 meals. We were still just on fruits and veggies, and puffs like you. The amount varied between feedings, but I always fed them until they seemed uninterested. Sounds like you are doing great!

We usually "eat" twice a day as well.
    Breakfast: 8 oz. bottle
    Brunch: @ 4-6 oz. bottle
Lunch: Stage 1 meat and Stage 2 veggie
Afternoon: Stage 1 meat and Stage 2 fruit
    Dinner: 8 oz. bottle

We had a very similar schedule as yours when they were 7-8 months. We were doing breakfast (cereal and fruit) and dinner. Mine were getting 4 bottles a day every 4 hours. I started trying to increase the food intake around 8 months. I had a third meal and a lot more table food at 9 months. Just when you get this figured out it will be time to change the schedule again.

At my girls' six month appt., the pedi told us most 6-9 month olds have the following:

breakfast: 1-2 Tbsp. cereal with 1/2-1 "jars" fruit
lunch: 1/2-1 "jar" fruit and 1/2-1 "jar" veg
dinner: 1-2 "jars" of the dinner combo meals (we have been successful with chicken & apples and chicken & pears)
24-30 oz. of formula (whatever they were used to drinking by the time they reached 6 months)

My girls aren't near these amounts but they are increasing slightly. They have been little eaters from the beginning. We just started puffs and yesterday I was at a party and out of desperation to make them happy I skinned grapes, cut them into tee tiny pieces and gave them to the girls. They loved it!

we have 3 solid feedings a day and 4-5 BF.

Our boys eat an astounding amount of food at each sitting ( I make it all from scratch) and then every once in a while they lose interest early into it. Like I think pp said, sounds like you got it down and as soon as we all figure it out they'll up and change on us!!
