How much do your twins weigh?

We went to Thanksgiving and there was another baby there. My twins are almost 8 1/2 months old and weigh about 20 lbs - they're both fairly long too -they were in the 90+% last MD appt. I thought my babies were pretty healthy and average, but this baby was barely 13-14 lbs maybe? And she is just 3 weeks younger than them. My babies looked like giants next to her and my family kept talking about how BIG my babies were. I know, I know all babies grow differently, but it made me feel like my babies were way too big for their age.

So, just curious how much everyone's twins weigh/at what age etc.

    Thanks!!!!

At 6 months mine were 13-11 (10th %) and 17-11 (80th %). All babies are different. Both of mine, although very different in size, are very healthy! The 4 pound difference does make me laugh though!

My girls weigh 21-22 lbs and they are younger so don't sweat it! our pedi says "chubby" babies don't turn into chubby toddlers/children.

At 6 months James was 20lbs and Luke was 18lbs. I'm not sure how much they weigh now but they're also very long. Dh 6'5 so we have big babies.

I hope that the other mom wasn't hearing all the comparisons. I'm sure that would have made her feel bad. :( Babies grow at different rates.
My two were both in the 7.5 pound range and at 9 months (breastfed) my DD was 19lbs, 1oz (55%).

It is super hard to hear how your babies are so small all the time like pp said, I hope the other mom didn't hear everyone. At 9months they only weighed about 16 lbs or so and even now, when mine are up next to a singleton that is 8 months they are the same size. So I would say yours are probably average.

Well, I always think people think I'm starving my babies. They are 15.5 pounds at 11 months, BUT they were 10 weeks early and only weighed 2 pounds, 13 ounces when they were born. Try not to compare your babies with other babies. If the doctor feels they are growing appropriately, that's all you need to be concerned about.

Mine just turned 9 months. We havent gone for our 9 month check-up yet but on my home scale.

    DS 19.5 pounds
    DD 16.5 pounds

They are all different shapes and sizes, just so long as they are healthy. People will always find a comment to make!

Mine are almost 5 months old. Last week they had their 4-month check up and they are both over 16 lbs and 26" long [in the 90th and 95th percentile].

Every baby is different; they all grow and develop and different rates! Just look how many shapes and sizes adults are... babies are all over the spectrum as well. As long as they are following their own curve, they are doing great!!

At nine months, my AJ was 21lb8oz and 29inches (about 75% percentile for both), and Ben was 17lb1oz and 27inches (about 10-15% for both). 4.5lbs different, even though they were only 8oz different at birth! They both nurse the same amount of times daily, and Ben is my better table eater... AJ often fights us and barely eats at mealtimes! So, it just proves that genetic make-up dictates so much - one takes after my DH's family, the other after my family. Even at birth, their builds looked different; now, AJ is bottom-heavy, with a big butt/thighs/belly, and Ben has a tiny muscular butt, but is very strong in the chest and arms. AJ needs size 5 dipes, and Ben can still wear 3's at 10.5 months!

Oh, and, AJ is the one who has had major health problems - life-threatening dairy allergy and ITP... so 'bigger' doesn't necessarily mean 'healthier.'

Mine are only 18lbs or thereabouts at 11 months. But perfect in every way.

Mine are 6 months old and weigh 17lbs (DD) and 19lbs (DS). Everyone tells me mine are huge too  DH & I were both big babies so I guess it´s genetic! I wouldnt worry what other people say, if your two are healthy and the pedi´s ok with their weights then I wouldnt worry! I know what you mean though! :)

No, it was quite the opposite - it seemed people were thinking my babies were too big. And the mother actually was not there - her grandparents brought her. Anyhow, thank you for all your responses.

At 12 months Lily was 16 pounds 2 ounces and Amelia was 18 pounds even. Now Amelia is probably almost 19 pounds and Lily is 18 pounds 4 ounces. My girls are peanuts though and I worry about it, I think babies come in all sizes the same as adults do, and that no matter if big or small for their age they are all the right size for themselves.

I wouldn't be concerned at all if the ped says they are healthy! They sound healthy to me!

that was my first thought. one of my most hated comments is when people say, "oooooh! they're so small!"

Mine are around 19 and 20 pounds right now. Your babies are not to big by any means, and her baby wasn't to small either. They will be what will be.
